The Study Of The Germination Characteristics Of Seeds And The Technology Of Seed And Seedling Of Rhododendron Augustinii And Rhododendron Molle

In this thesis,the fruit morphology,seed characteristics,seed germination conditions,seed and seedling matrix,seeding density and covering soil thickness of wild Rhododendron augustinii and Rhododendron molle were studied.The main conclusions are as follows:1)The capsule of the Rhododendron augustinii is narrow and oblong,with an average length of 1.98 cm and width of 0.58 cm,and has sparse bristles;There are 174 seeds in each capsule,and the 1000-seed weight is 0.082 g.The seeds were round in shape,with sharp mating points.The seeds were about 1.736 mm long,0.589 mm wide,and 0.719 mm squared in area.There were no wings.The capsules of Rhododendron molle were cylindrical,rectangular and round,with an average length of 2.86 cm and a mean width of0.99 cm.The average number of seeds in each capsule was 286,1000 seeds weighing0.298 g.The seeds were rectangular,round,flat,tawny,with a sharp chalazal,a length of about 3.390 mm,a width of about 1.409 mm,and an area of about 3.01 mm.Both ends and sides of the seed have more developed wings;The surface texture is clear,rib is very dense,the overall cross-shaped.2)Under the normal temperature storage of Rhododendron augustinii and Rhododendron molle affected by temperature and storage time significantly.The optimal temperature of germination of Rhododendron augustinii was 25/15?,the highest germination rate was 93.33%.The optimal temperature of Rhododendron molle was20/10?,the highest germination rate was 92%.At the condition of 10/8?,Rhododendron augustinii didn't germinate.At the same temperature,the germination rate of both showed a significant decline with the increase of dry storage time.After 6 months of storage under the optimal germination temperature,the germination rate decreased to<60%.Neither of the two has dormancy.3)At the condition of storing at 4?,Rhododendron augustinii and Rhododendron molle affected by temperature and storage time significantly.Rhododendron augustinii can keep high germination rate at 20/10?,and Rhododendron molle can keep high germination rate at 25/15?.According to the result,there is no diffrence between each other significantly.Under the condition of 10/8?and 15/10?,respectively,the seed germination rate dropped significantly by the increasing of the storage time.But under the condition of 20/10?and 25/15?,the germination rate didn't drop a lot.Neither of the two has dormancy.Low temperature(4?)storage is more advantageous to keep the germination rate of Rhododendron augustinii and Rhododendron molle.4)Rhododendron augustinii and Rhododendron molle were significantly affected by the seeding substrate,density and covering thickness.In the process of seeding and seedling,the matrix of peat soil:vermiculite(8:2)was used,and the density of 1000 grains/m~2 was used for seeding.At last,without covering the soil,the best seedling emergence rate could be obtained.5)Applying 1000mg/L Stanley compound fertilizer to Rhododendron augustinii and Rhododendron molle seedlings,the net growth,biomass and leaf area of Rhododendron augustinii and Rhododendron molle were significantly affected,and the growth effect was good,but the chlorophyll of the two seedlings was not significantly affected.
