Moringa oleifera is belong to the korahites fogfruit m.oleifera.Moringa oleifera leaf has many kinds of pharmacological effects,such as enhanced immunity,antioxidant,blood sugar reduction,blood lipid reduction and antibacterial activity.It has a good effect on improving animal production performance,enhancing immunity and improving the quality of poultry products.The study selected the young quails and laying quails as the research objects,and added 2%,4% and 8% of Moringa oleifera leaves in the basic diet,to research the effects on the production performance,serum biochemical indexes,intestinal morphology and intestinal microflora of young quails,and the laying performance and egg quality of laying quails.It lays the foundation for researching the mechanism and using Moringa oleifera leaf as a quail-feed additive.The study is divided into two parts.The first part,2000 7-day-old female quails were selected and divided into 5 groups(the control group,2% Moringa oleifera leaf group,4% Moringa oleifera leaf group,8% Moringa oleifera leaf group and Sanzhensan group).Each group had 4 replications and 100 quails per replicate.The trial period was 28 days.Every week,we measured their weight,food consumption,average daily gain and transformation ratio of feed.In the age of 21 and 35 days,we collected blood samples from jugular vein and measured the serum biochemical indexes,the immunizing potence of ND and H9,the content of IL-2 and IFN-γ.After blood collection,the body was killed.we measured the weight of immune organs and calculate the index of immune organ,measured the length and weight of duodenum,jejunum and ileum,and calculated the intestinal index and the ratio of jejunum and ileum.we made the jejunum and ileum paraffin sections,and measured the height of the intestinal villi and the depth of crypt,and calculated the ratio of intestinal villi and depth of crypt.The contents of cecum were collected and the number of colibacillus,bifidobacteria and lactobacilli were measured.The results are as follows.1 The effect of Moringa oleifera leaf on production performance of young quails.The 8%of Moringa oleifera leaves significantly reduced intake of 7-day-old quails.The 2% and 4% of Moringa oleifera leaves significantly increased average daily weight gain and reduced eed togain ratio of young quails.The 2% and 4% of Moringa oleifera leaves significantly increased weight,half net thorax rate and leg muscle rate of young quails.The 4% and 8% of Moringa oleifera leaves significantly increased the index of immune organs.2 The effect of Moringa oleifera leaf on serum biochemical indexes of young quails.Moringa oleifera leaves were no significant effect on serum protein of young quails.The 4%and 8% of Moringa oleifera leaves significantly reduced AST concentration of 35-day-old quails.The 4% and 8% of Moringa oleifera leaves significantly reduced TC and LDL-C concentration,significantly increased serum T-AOC and T-SOD concentration,significantly reduced MDA concentration,significantly increased immunizing potence of ND,significantly increased IL-2 and IFN-γ concentration.3 The effect of Moringa oleifera leaf on intestinal morphology and microflora of young quails.Moringa oleifera leaves were no significant effect on the length,weight,bowel index and ratio of jejunum and ileum of quail small intestine.The 4% and 8% of Moringa oleifera leaves significantly increased the height of the intestinal villi and ratio of intestinal villi and depth of crypt of 21-day-old quails.The 4% and 8% of Moringa oleifera leaves significantly reduced the number of colibacillus,significantly increased the number of bifidobacteria in the content of cecum.The second part,750 60-day-old female quails were selected and divided into 5 groups(the control group,2% Moringa oleifera leaf group,4% Moringa oleifera leaf group,8%Moringa oleifera leaf group and Sanzhensan group).Each group had 3 replications and 50 quails per replicate.The trial period was 28 days.Every week,we measured their food consumption,average egg production,average egg production rate and feed to egg ratio.15 quail eggs were selected of every group to determine egg quality.The results are as follows.The effect of Moringa oleifera leaf on laying performance and egg quality of laying quails.Moringa oleifera leaves were no significant effect on food consumption,average egg production,average egg production rate and feed to egg ratio.The 4% and 8% of Moringa oleifera leaves significantly increased the color of yolk and protein height of egg,significantly reduced the cholesterol content of yolk.Adding Moringa oleifera leaves can improve production performance and slaughtering performance of young quails.It can enhance immune performance by promoting the growthand increase the serum antibody level of immune organs.It can improve serum lipid metabolism and enhance the body’s antioxidant ability of young quails.it can promote the early development of small intestine and had a positive effect on adjusting intestinal flora.Adding Moringa oleifera leaves can improve the quality of eggs and reduce the total cholesterol content of yolk.
