| Moringa oleifera,is of high nutritional value.Now a days,the shortage of feed resources is one of the problems that our livestock industry is facing.So it has good foreground in developing of woody fodder resources.The production level of sows determined the production level of pig breeding.Firstly,this study measured the Moringa oleifera leaves meal and Moringa oleifera stem-leaves meal on the digestible energy(DE),metabolic energy(ME)in pigs,and digestible nutrients content in pigs.The experiment using corn-soybean based diet,30% Moringa oleifera leaves powder and 30% Moringa oleifera stem-leaves powder,feeding with powder.Twelve castrated long white boars,with 35 kg body and similar health condition were reared in individual metabolic cages.After 7 days of adaptation period,12 boars were randomly divided into the control and two treatment groups,each group with 4 boars,starting the formal experiment.The experiment was designed with 3×3 Latin square test.The experiment was divided into three periods,8 days of each period,pretrial period of the first 5 days,the next 3 days for fecaluria collection period,and measure the related indexes.Secondly,this study explored the effects of different dosages Moringa oleifera leaves on reproductive performance,backfat thickness,colostrum composition,serum indexes of sows and piglets.Fourty five Landrace back-up sows,with similar weight and feed intake,were divided randomly into the control and two treatment groups,each group with 15 sows.Feed were prepared by adding 0%,4%,8% Moringa oleifera leaves powder with balanced nutrition and energy level respectively.The experiment started from two weeks before mating to the end of weaning.The experiment results showed that:1.The Moringa oleifera leaves digestible energy(DE)was 13.93 MJ/kg,metabolizable energy(ME)was 13.29 MJ/kg,digestible crude fiber was 7.20%,digestible fat was 4.81% and digestible crude protein 23.21%.The Moringa oleifera stem-leaves DE was 13.27 MJ/kg,ME was 12.55 MJ/kg,digestible crude fiber was 11.03%,digestible fat was 3.63% and digestible crude protein 12.02%.2.Moringa oleifera decreased unsuccessful mating rate of sows,and led to a nonsignificant in the total number of piglets,birth weight and weaning weight.The group of 4% and 8% Moringa oleifera leaves significantly decreased farrowing length and the number of still born,and had an upward tendency in the number of born alive.Moringa oleifera led to a non-significant in backfat thickness and backfat-loss at weaning stage.The group of 8% Moringa oleifera significantly increased the protein level in colostrum.And Moringa oleifera led to a non-significant increase in milk SnF,lactose and fat.On 90 days of pregnancy,4% Moringa oleifera meal significantly decreased the serum urea of sows.On 10 days of lactation,4% Moringa oleifera meal significantly decreased the serum glucose of sows.On days 60 of gestation,additions of both 4% and 8% Moringa oleifera significantly increased serum T-AOC activity of the sows relative to control(P<0.05),8% Moringa oleifera significantly elevated serum CAT activity relative to control group(P<0.05).On 90 days of gestation,Moringa oleifera meal significantly increased the serum T-AOC of sows,the serum MDA of sows declined significantly in 4% Moringa oleifera addition group(P<0.05).At 10 day of lactation,additions of both 4% and 8% Moringa oleifera significantly increased serum T-AOC activity of the sows(P<0.05),8% Moringa oleifera meal significantly decreased the serum MDA level of sows(P<0.05),and increased the serum GSH-Px activity(P<0.05),relative to control.In addition,at 10 day of lactation,8% Moringa oleifera meal significantly increased the serum PRL of sows.Furthermore,8% Moringa oleifera meal significantly increased the serum CAT and SOD activities of piglets.And Moringa oleifera led to a non-significant in serum T-AOC,MDA and GSH-Px.4% and 8% Moringa oleifera meal significantly decreased the serum urea of piglets.4% Moringa oleifera meal significantly increased the serum glucose of piglets.8% Moringa oleifera meal significantly increased the serum total cholesterol level of piglets.8% Moringa oleifera meal significantly increased the serum total protein level.In summary,Moringa oleifera leaves have high nutrients,which can be fully digested by pigs.Thus,Moringa oleifera leaves can be used as a high quality feed resources of sows.In addition,dietary supplementation of Moringa oleifera leaves shorten farrowing length and reducing the number of stillbirths.Besides,Moringa oleifera leaves can improve the serum biochemical indexes,enhancing the body’s antioxidant capacity of sows and piglets as well. |
