In this experiment,three ornamental wild plants of the Phlomis of China(Phlomis dentosa,Phlomis mongolica Turcz,and Phlomis pratensis)were researched as experimental and observation objects.The phenological factors of these plants were observed during the periods of germination,leaf-expanding,new shoot growth,flowering and fruit ripening,and referred to contemporaneous temperature factors,to analyze the relationship between the law of growing development and environmental factors.The seed biology of the three species of Phlomis was studied to found the optimum germination conditions,as technical reserves for the propagation of three wild plants during domestication and application.The drought tolerance of the three species of Phlomis was studied,and their physiological changes under drought conditions were analyzed to provide services for the ecological promotion of three plants.The results are as follows:1.The average temperature of the three different phenological period of the three species of Phlomis was obtained by associated the phenological periods with the temperature factors.It can be summarized that the temperature of the flowering stage is above or equal to 20 °C,the boundary temperature is 10 °C,the highest temperature in Beijing is 38 °C and the lowest is-10 °C.According to the average temperature obtained by the five-day average temperature method,the start and end date of three plants of the Phlomis through the 10 °C boundary temperature stably are around March 27 th and October 25 th in Beijing.2.The results of the seed dormancy and germination test of three species of Phlomis showed that:(1)The water content of the three species is 8% to 10%,and the water content comparison: Phlomis mongolica Turcz > Phlomis pratensis > Phlomis dentosa.(2)Seeds of the Phlomis pratensis have deep dormancy,the Phlomis mongolica Turcz and Phlomis dentosa have shallow dormancy.The degree of dormancy: Phlomis pratensis > Phlomis dentosa > Phlomis mongolica Turcz.(3)The optimum germination temperature of the three plants of the Phlomis is 20 °C,and the germination rate comparison: Phlomis mongolica Turcz > Phlomis dentosa > Phlomis pratensis.The highest germination rate of the Phlomis dentosa is 78.67%,the Phlomis mongolica Turcz is 88%,and the Phlomis pratensis didn't germinated.(4)The inhibition factor of seed germination of the Phlomis mongolica Turcz is the water-soluble substance on the seed coat,which can be soaked and washed with waterto eliminate,to germinate the seeds.The seeds of Phlomis dentosa were immersed for12 hours by 5% PEG,and the germination rate can reach about 70%;The seeds of Phlomis pratensis were soaked for 30 hours by 20% ~25% PEG,and the germination rate can reach above 60%.(5)The seeds of Phlomis mongolica Turcz were soaked for12 hours by 100mg/L GA,and the germination rate is nearly 100%.The seeds of the Phlomis dentosa were soaked for 12 hours by 100mg/L GA,and the germination rate can reach above 75%.The seeds of Phlomis pratensis were soaked by 400mg/L GA for 24 hours,and the germination rate can reach about 85%.(6)Storage in sand can promote seeds germination significantly.3.The drought-tolerance water physiology of the three plants of the Phlomis showed that the three plants showed strong water regulation ability under drought conditions,and the drought resistance of the Phlomis pratensis is strongest,while the Phlomis mongolica Turcz showed water regulation ability inconsistent with rhizome strigospora,which maybe in order to cope with drought,more water was transferred to the rhizome to reduce the consumption of aboveground parts.
