Large tree transplants play an extremely important role in urban garden landscapes.Ancient trees and precious tree species that need to be moved due to urban construction can be protected by methods for large tree transplanting.Large trees planting in landscaping projects can also rapidly enhance cities' garden landscape effects.In recent years,under the advocacy of governments in Fujian Province,the greening rate of the provincial capital,Fuzhou city,has been continuously increased.Any green space on both sides of the road which beneficial to pedestrian shading was planted with large trees.However,the cost of transplanting large trees was high,but the survival rate was low.How to adopt scientific tree transplanting technology and reasonable management measures after transplantation is of great significance to maintaining urban ecological and social benefits.In view of this,this study was based on the status of large tree transplantation in Fuzhou urban area.Objected with the arbor trees with a diameter at breast height(DBH)of 15 cm or more in Fuzhou urban area,the basic knowledge and related principles of the large tree transplantation were summarized and analyzed,through the tracking investigation of the large tree transplantation project.In order to improve the survival rate of large tree transplants,enhance the urban greening effect,and reduce the waste of resources and ecological damage caused by large tree transplants,the effects of transplantation methods on large tree transplantation,using the typical case of large tree transplantation and comparative analysis of the experiment,explored the key technologies and business strategies suitable for large tree transplantation in Fuzhou city.The main results were as follows:(1)The survival rate of common tree species in Fuzhou was higher than that in summer.The larger the breast diameter after transplanting,the lower the survival rate.The overall cause of death was root damage>drought> lodging> pests and diseases.(2)Improving the survival technology of large tree transplantation should follow the principle of appropriate tree adaptation,the principle of forest growth rhythm,the principle of balance of payments,and the principle of survival and conservation.(3)Before transplanting,the root tree should be root-cut,and it should be properly trimmed as needed to improve the stress resistance.At the same time,attention should be given to the wound treatment of the roots of the tree and the trunk should be pointed and treated.The transportation route should be planned and the planting point should be prepared in advance.To avoid long-term transportation of trees,attention should be given on the stability of the tree during transportation.When planting large trees,technical measures such as lifting,planting,support,and fixation should be done.Furthermore,special care should be taken to avoid water accumulation at planting site after transplantation,also the treatments should be correct,including water and soil management,supplementary pruning,fertilization management and nutrient solution input,pest control,weeding,loose soil,and other conservation methods(4)Through the analysis of typical cases in urban greening in Fuzhou,it was concluded that the transplanting of large trees in Fuzhou urban area should be based on its special geographical climate and local conditions,but not blindly following the transplanting methods of different regions.Thus,we could enhance the survival rate of large tree transplants,reduce waste of resources,and avoid ecological damage.
