Due to the hot and humid climate in southern China, the growth of Lavandula angustifolia in southern China is unsatisfactory.Plants do not grow well and their life span is short.Potted planting can reduce these defects to a certain extent.Lavender plants are rich in species, and their volatile components are beneficial to humans and are very suitable for planting in the home.Using common humus, vermiculite, perlite, peat and other conventional planting cultures of potted plants, people can plant lavender in their own homes to facilitate the promotion of lavender planting in home gardening. In this study, two kinds of lavender with the best performance of germination and emergence were used as experimental materials to observe their growth and development in the regular family potted matrix formula.Through the analysis of the physical and chemical properties of the potted substrate, the growth index and physiological index of 2 kinds of lavender, the conclusions are as follows:(1)Through the analysis of the germination and emergence of 5 kinds of lavender seeds in different concentrations of GA3,it was found that the most suitable concentration of lavender seeds and seedlings growth was 300mg/L,and the narrow-leaf and the leatherleaf lavender show best in the 5 varieties, which can get the most robust seedlings.(2)According to the comparasive analysis of the growth and development indexes of two kinds of lavender in different potted substrates and the physicochemical properties of the matrix,No.7 substrate(peat: vermiculite: humus = 1:1:1),No.8(peat:pearlite:humus=1:1:1)have performed best in the height, crown width, number of branches, number of leaves, dry weight of ground, fresh weight of ground and fresh dry weight of lavender. And both are higher than the CK control. The lavender angustifolia leaves did not show flowering during the experimental observation period.No.1,7 and No.8 substrate-treated Fernleaf lavender leaves had higher bud number, flowering number, florescence length, spike length, and number of single spike flowers than CK control. They did the best performance. However, due to the larger bulk density of the No.1 substrate and the smaller porosity,No.7 and No.8 substrates are more suitable as lavender potting substrates. From the perspective of the potted leaves of the two types of lavender plants, the Fernleaf lavender is characterized by its low plant height, high survival rate, and its leaf shape as a feathered leaf, which is more ornamental than the lavender angustifolia leaf and it has a long lavender flowering stage with more beautiful flower patterns. Therefore it is more suitable for ornamental potted flowers.(3)It can be analyzed from the effects of different substrates on the physiological indexes of 2 lavender. The physiological indexes of lavender 2 treated with No.7 matrix were the best for the whole performance, and No.8 matrix treatment was the second one.In 2 kinds of lavender, the physiological indexes of lavender were higher than those of narrow leaf lavender. To sum up,No.7 matrix(peat: vermiculite: humus soil =1:1:1)is the most suitable for the potted plant matrix of 2 kinds of lavender, which is the most suitable for narrow leaves and leaves. The 8 matrix(peat: Perlite: humus =1:1:1)can also be used as a potted plant formula for 2 kinds of lavender leaves and narrow leaves.Lavender is the most suitable type of lavender for potted plants.
