As the conflict between transportation development and ecological protection gradually becomes prominent today,it has become increasingly important to settle such kind of conflicts. After consulting current studies on domestic and oversea literature on road ecology, the author has found that there are few studies on the road ecology of low-level highways and little attention is given to the study of common wild species. The location of this research, the forest road in Huangni River National Natural Reserve,is a kind of low-level highway. The study is conducted from the following two areas:death from road traffic and road-effect zone of environmental factors around the road. The thesis discusses the conflict and unity between transportation and reserve and quantifies the research content. It can provide scientific evidence for a series of late-stage protection work such as mitigating the impact of transportation on wild animals and offers reference data for the reconstruction of wild animal passages in the late stage. From June 2017 to May 2018,a study was conducted on the traffic death and the road-effect zone of environmental factors for terrestrial vertebrates in the forest road in Huangni River National Natural Reserve.Traffic death is the direct reflection of the impact of road projects on wild animals. Moreover, the scope of influence for road traffic is not limited to road width. The road-effect zone the sum of total space scope on road side environmental impact.Major environmental factors concerned include:noise, temperature, humidity, illumination intensity, vegetation type, vision, animal traces, and the number of traffic deaths, etc.Research results are listed below:1.Research on traffic death of wild animalsIn the whole year, altogether 4,610 animals under 26 species were crushed to death by vehicles and the average death rate was 845.87/100km.Amphibians account for the highest proportion of deaths in number(90.59%)and birds account for the highest proportion of deaths in the number of species(nine).Among traffic influence factors, traffic flow and the death rate of all animals were significantly correlated(r=0.911,p=0.004);among environmental factors, the presence of water was significantly correlated with animal death rate(x~2=4.178,p=0.025)and the height of terrain was significantly correlated with the death rate of reptiles;in terms of changes in diversity index, the number of animals killed for the road section from K31 to K40was higher than that of other road sections.2.Research on the road-effect zone of various environmental factors of the roadThe results include analysis in summer and winter.Summer:The road-effect zone of noise was 150m on one side;the road-effect zone of temperature was 10m on one side;the road-effect zone of humidity was 30m on one side;the road-effect zone of illumination intensity was 10m on one side;the road-effect zone of vegetation was 10m on one side;the road-effect zone of vision was 50m on one side.Winter:The road-effect zone of noise was 150m on one side;the road-effect zone of illumination intensity was 30m on one side;the road-effect zone of vegetation was 50m on one side;the road-effect zone of vision was 100m on one side;the road-effect zone of animals was 50m on one side. The road-effect zone of roads perpendicular to the road is 300m on both sides;the road-effect zone(the road-effect zone of the intersection between villages and roads)of roads in parallel to the road is 6km on both sides.Suggestions:Install guide boards in areas with frequent animal activities;ban vehicle over speed;Take into consideration multiple perspectives such as types and behavior characteristics of major animals in areas with frequent animal activities in road planning and design customized animal passages according to the need, which can increase the availability of the passages.Wild animal passages should be incorporated into considerations in road construction;more passages should be constructed in highways with frequent wild animal activities and take environmental impact factors as the basis of construction proposals.
