Tomato is the main vegetable species cultivated in China. With the economic development and the improvement of people’s living standards, the requirements for tomato quality are getting higher and higher. In order to improve the quality of tomato fruits, this experiment used’Shuofeng 688’and’Jinpeng 8’as the test materials to study the effects of different cultivation methods and root space size and different water and fertilizer supply modes on tomato growth, yield and quality. The main results are as follows:1.Set up 2 cultivation methods:though and bag type,4 kinds of root space:10 L(CK),7.5 L(TI),5 L(T2),2.5 L(T3),The effects of different cultivation methods and the size of root space on tomato growth, yield and quality were studied. With the decrease of root space and same cultivation model, the plant height, stem thickness, specific leaf weight, photosynthetic pigment content and photosynthetic rate gradually decreased, and the single fruit weight and yield decreased, but fruit color change time was advanced, and fruit quality and storability were significantly improved, and the treatment with T3 was better.Soluble sugar content, soluble protein content and lycopene content in trough cultivation were increased by 42.7%,14.1%and 34.7%,respectively,compared with CK.Soluble sugar, soluble protein and lycopene in bag cultivation were increased by 35.7%,1.6%and 64.5%,respectively.Compared with trough type with the same root space, the growth potential and photosynthetic capacity of bagged tomato plants were weaker, lower single fruit weight and yield, but increased soluble sugar and lycopene content and better storage resistance.2.Set three water and fertilizer supply modes:treatmentⅠ-automatic liquid supply according to the accumulated solar radiation(for every accumulation of 350 kJ/m~2,the liquid supply is shown in Table 1);treatmentⅡ-daily supply at regular time intervals 7:00-17:00,water and fertilizer supply every 1h,the liquid supply is shown in Table 1);TreatmentⅢ-Automatic liquid supply based on substrate humidity(stop the liquid supply below the set value or above the set value, the liquid supply is shown in Table 1),study the effects of different water and fertilizer supply modes on tomato growth, yield and quality.Compared with treatment II and treatment III,treatment I had strong growth, strong root activity, high photosynthetic pigment content and high photosynthetic rate, higher soluble sugar, soluble solid,Vc and soluble protein content, and stronger enzyme activities related to sugar metabolism. The yield of treatment I was 6308.3 kg equivalent to 667 m~2,which was 19.1%higher than that of treatment II and had no significant difference from treatment III.
