Dynamic Research On Growth And Development Characteristics Of New Potato Variety "Topaz"

Potato has attracted much attention because of its high nutritional value,good planting benefit,high ornamental value and broad market prospect.Due to the continuous expansion of the domestic market demand for color potatoes,the color potato industry is now in a new development trend.However,there are few varieties of color potatoes planted in China.Therefore,it is of great significance to enrich the germplasm resources of color potatoes and promote the production and industrial development of color potatoes.In this paper,the new colored potato variety Huang Baoshi selected by the research team in the early stage was used as the material,and the main planted variety Favorita in Anhui was used as the control.The whole growth period of the plant growth characteristics,agronomic characteristics,tuber yield and quality characteristics were analyzed and studied.The characteristics of the variety and the understanding of its growth law provide a theoretical basis for the popularization and application of the new color potato variety yellow gem.The main findings are as follows:1.Through the investigation of the growth period,the results show that the growth period of Topaz is longer,and its emergence rate is higher(97.14%).The emergence time is later than Favorita by 7 days.It is shorter,and it does not bloom early in Anhui.2.Comparative analysis of plant traits in different periods,shows that in terms of morphological characteristics,both stems are green in color,while the leaves of Topaz that its size and traits are obviously different from Favorita.The plant height of Topaz in each growth During the period,it was higher than Favorita,and the stem thickness was slightly lower than Favorita.And the plant height,stem thickness,main stem number,and leaf area of topaz showed an increasing trend throughout the growing period.3.Comparative analysis of chlorophyll content and photosynthetic rate in different periods,shows that the SPAD value and photosynthetic rate of Topaz are in a trend of increasing first and then decreasing,and reached the maximum value 50 days after emergence.Topaz’s SPAD value is lower than Favority during its growth period.There is a significant correlation between the chlorophyll content and nitrogen content of the two.4.Analysis of the nutritional quality of tubers,shows that the soluble sugar content of Topaz in different periods is significantly lower than that of Favorita.However,its dry matter content,vitamin content and starch content were significantly higher than Favorita after maturity,with 20.2 g/100 g,15.1 mg/100g,and 13.7 mg/100g,respectively.5.Analysis of tuber appearance traits and yield traits shows that the two varietieshave significant differences in tuber appearance morphology.Topaz is red-skinned yellow meat,and Favorita is yellow-skinned yellow meat.The number of potatoes per plant in Topaz is higher than that in Favorita,while the average single potato weight,maximum potato weight and yield per plant are lower than that in Favorita.6.Analysis of the correlation between the plant traits and yield traits of the two plants,shows that there is a significant correlation between the plant traits of the Topaz,and there is also a significant correlation between the plant traits and the yield traits.The correlation between traits and yield traits was not significant.
