In order to reveal effects of different irrigation methods on water and nitrogen use efficiency different and Physiological mechanisms. The treatments included shallow buried drip irrigation(SBDI),traditional border irrigation(TBI)and mulched drip irrigation(MDI).In 2017 and 2018,for 2 consecutive years, the agricultural and animal husbandry high-tech demonstration park in Keerqin District,Tongliao City,Inner Mongolia, nonghua 101 was used as the test material. In this study, effects of different irrigation methods on root and canopy Physiological characteristics, material accumulation, translocation and water and nitrogen use efficiency of spring maize in the region of West Liaohe plain were investigated. The main findings are as follows:1.Different irrigation methods have different effects on canopy structural characteristics and physiological characteristics of spring maize,LAI were both highest in the SBDI,followed by TBI and MDI,and LAI of SBDI was 1.4% and 3.1%higher than that of MDI and TBI respectively in silking stage, and LAI of BDI was18.4% and 2.1% higher than that of MDI and TBI respectively in milking stage. The SPAD value of ear layer and the ear position were the highest in the TBI,followed by SBDI and MDI in silking stage and were the highest in the SBDI,followed by TBI and MDI in milking stage. The Pn and Tr were the highest under MDI before 10:00,and the lowest after 14:00,There is not much difference between SBDI and TBI.The SOD and POD activity of MDI in the leaves of each layer was lower than that of SBDI and TBI during silking stage,MDA content of MDI is higher than that of SBDI and TBI,there is not significant differences between treatments, the differences between treatments increased with the growth of the child.2.Different irrigation methods have different effects on root structural characteristics and physiological characteristics of spring maize. The total root weight were the highest in the MDI,followed by SBDI and MDI in milking stage and were the highest in the SBDI,followed by TBI and MDI in milking stage and mature stage. In the 0-20 cm soil layer, the total root weight were highest in the MDI in silking stage and were highest in the SBDI in milking stage and mature stage, below soil layer20 cm,the total root weight were all the highest in the TBI,followed by SBDI and MDI.In the 0-20 cm soil layer, the root length were the highest in the MDI in silking stage, below soil layer 20 cm,the root length were the highest in the SBDI.In the10 cm and 20 cm soil layer, the number of root were highest in SBDI in silking stage and milking stage, there is significant differences between treatments in 10 cm soil layer, and there is not significant differences between treatments in 20 cm soil layer. In the 30 cm soil layer, the number of root were the highest in the SBDI,followed by TBI and MDI,there is significant differences between MDI and SBDI,TBI.The root vigor is significant differences between treatments in silking stage and were the highest inthe MDI,followed by MDI,there is significant differences between treatments. The SOD and POD activity of root were the highest in the MDI in silking stage and MDA content of root were the lowest in the MDI in silking stage, there is significant differences between treatments in 0-20 cm soil layer, and there is not significant differences between treatments in 40-60 cm soil layer. The SOD and POD activity of root were the lowest in the MDI and MDA content of root were the highest in the MDI in milking stage, there is significant differences between treatments in 0-20 cm and 40-60 cm,and there is not significant differences between treatments in 20-40 cm.3.Different irrigation methods have different effects on dry matter accumulation and transportation of spring maize.Total dry matter accumulation were the highest in the SBDI,followed by TBI and MDI,dry matter accumulation rate were the highest in MDI before silking stage and were the highest in SBDI.The dry matter transportation and the contribution rate of translocation rate and amount of dry matter to grain were were the highest in the SBDI,followed by TBI and MDI.There is not significant differences between treatments before silking stage 30 days and were the highest in the SBDI,followed by TBI and MDI,and were gradually increased after 30 days of silking stage, inferior kennel are more obvious.Nitrogen accumulation, transportation and the contribution rate of translocation rate were all the highest in the SBDI,followed by TBI and MDI.4.Different irrigation methods have different effects on grain yield and water and nitrogen use efficiency of spring maize. The water and nitrogen use efficiency were all the highest in the SBDI,followed by TBI and MDI,water use efficiency of SBDI was 44.9%-51.7% and 6.1%-13.5% higher than that of MDI and TBI respectively, nitrogen use efficiency SBDI was 0.4%-10.0% and 0.6%-3.5% higher than that of MDI and TBI respectively. The grain yield were all the highest in the SBDI,followed by TBI and MDI,grain yield was 6.1%-13.9% and 4.0%-6.2% higher than that of MDI and TBI respectively.
