The changes of pigments, membrane lipid peroxidation products, osmotic regulators and antioxidant enzymes in leaves of Empetrum nigrum var.japonicum in Daxing' anling during natural cooling were studied. The specific indexes include:Chla,Chlb, total chlorophyll,Chla/Chlb,carotenoid,anthocyanin,malondialdehyde,soluble sugar, soluble protein, free proline,POD,SOD,which provide scientific basis for exploring the mechanism of cold resistance of Empetrum nigrum var.japonicum.The main results are as follows:(1)Various pigment substances, with the temperature warming after overwintering to the optimum long-term temperature gradually decreased to overwintering. The content of Chlb showed"inverted W" type change, anthocyanin content showed "U" type change, and other pigments basically showed "inverted V" type.A significant negative correlation was found between total chlorophyll content and anthocyanin content and significant positive correlation with chlorophyll a content.Increased anthocyanin content is the red essence of Empetrum nigrum var.japonicum leaves.(2)MDA,Soluble sugar,Soluble protein,Proline,POD,SOD all appeared the lowest value in the optimum growth long-term,gradually increased with natural cooling, gradually decreased with temperature warming;during snow burying period,MDA content will still increase, other components content will decrease. The change of osmotic regulating substance content plays an important role in the response of Empetrum nigrum var.japonicum to the cold during natural cooling process.
