O.hosiei and O.henryi are endemic native tree species in China, they are listed as National Secondary Protected Plants. They are not only select furniture, carving materials, but also excellent garden trees. They have important economic, social and ecological value.O.hosiei and O.henryi lacks self-renewal ability, and seed acquisition is difficult. The research was conducted on light substrate seedlings cultivation of O.hosiei and O.henryi.Adopting peat, coconut bran, perlite, and vermiculite to prepare 9 groups of different media mixture ratios.we analyzed the physical and chemical properties of matrix formulations, determining growth indicators such as height, ground diameter, biomass, and root indicators of O.hosiei container seedlings, and physiological indicators including soluble sugar content, soluble protein content, nitrate nitrogen content, chlorophyll content, leaf mineral content and photosynthetic characteristics.Correlation analysis and membership function evaluation were used to screen substrate formulations suitable for the growth of O.hosiei and O.henryi.The result will provide technical guidance for the cultivation of high-quality seedlings of O.hosiei and O.henryi.The results are as follows,Analysis of physical and chemical properties of different substrateThe results showed that significant differences in physicochemical properties of the 9 groups of matrix formulations?P<0.05?.Discovered through correlation analysis, there were significant correlation between bulk density and mineral nutrients other than total nitrogen. The comprehensive results of physicochemical properties showed T1?80%peat+20%coconut bran?and T9?50%peat+50%vermiculite?were better.Impact of substrates on growth of O.hosiei and O.henryi container seedlingsThe results showed that the growth peak of O.hosiei was July to early August and mid-September to early October,The growth peak of O.henryi was mid-July to early August. Some growth indicators, such as seedling biomass and leaf number, were significantly related to the physical and chemical properties of the substrate. The substrate with the quality index of seedling and membership function values of O.hosiei was T2?80%peat+20%perlite?,The best substrate for O.henryi was T1?80%peat+20%coconut bran?.Impact of substrates on physiology of O.hosiei and O.henryi container seedlingsThe results showed that there were significant differences in physiological parameters except for soluble sugar and nitrate nitrogen content between O.hosiei and O.henryi cultivated in 9 different matrix?P<0.05?.Some physiological indexes such as soluble sugar and chlorophyll content of seedlings were significantly related to the physical and chemical properties of the substrate;Comprehensive physiological membership function values results showed that T6?80%peat+20%vermiculite?substrate was the best substrate to help improve the physiological activity of O.hosiei, followed by T5?50%peat+50%perlite?and T9?50%peat+50%vermiculite?.The most favorable substrate for the physiological development of O.henryi was T1?80%peat+20%coconut bran?,followed by T2?80%peat+20%perlite?and T5?50%peat+50%perlite?.The result of best matrix screeningThe comprehensive results of growth, physiological andmembership function values results showed that the most suitable substrate formulation for the cultivation of O.hosiei container seedlings was T5?50%peat+50%perlite?;The best seedling substrate for O.henryi container seedlings is T1?80% peat+20% coconut bran?.
