| The genus Chrysolina belongs to Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae: Chrysomelinae,is the largest genus in the subfamily Chrysomelinae. At present, there are more than 50 subgenus,500 species in the world, distributed in Palearctic realm,Oriental realm,Africa realm, and Nearctic realm.Prior to this study, according to the latest statistics,21 subgenera and 126 species are known in China. The study of this genus has great significance for the investigation and statistics of the biodiversity of Coleoptera and even the entire insect class since Chrysolina is the genus with the most species in the subfamily Chrysomelinae. However, due to the large number of species, wide distribution of the genus, and some groups are distributed at high altitudes, making it difficult to collect, resulting in slow progress in the study of this genus. This study systematically studied the species of Chrysolina in China from aspects of morphology, taxonomic identification, new species description, subgenus revision, homonym phenomenon, cataloge update, and geographical distribution through dissection, photography and inspection of my field-collected specimens and the specimens of the Institute of Zoology,Chinese Academy of Sciences, and collating a large amount of literature.Main tasks as follows:1.A total of 32 new species were described in this thesis, including 1 species from Russia and 31 species from China.New species: Chrysolina changeae sp.n.;Ch.cuihaoi sp.n.;Ch.dumui sp.n.;Ch.(Medvedevlevna)furthi sp.n.;Ch.genghiskhani sp.n.;Ch.houyii sp.n.;Ch.jiadaoi sp.n.;Ch.junzhiae sp.n.;Ch.(M.)nikolski sp.n.;Ch.shouyiae sp.n.;Ch.latellai sp.n.;Ch.liuyongi sp.n.;Ch.luluni sp.n.;Ch.linae sp.n.;Ch.giachinoi sp.n.;Ch.(M.)pangui sp.n.;Ch.pinochioi sp.n.;Ch.pseudozhongdiana sp.n.;Ch.rapillyi sp.n.;Ch.renae sp.n.;Ch.(M.)sergei sp.n.;Ch.sharonae sp.n.;Ch.sushii sp.n.;Ch.tribertii sp.n.;Ch.wangwani sp.n.;Ch.xunzii sp.n.;Ch.yaoi sp.n.;Ch.yuefeii sp.n.;Ch.yuae sp.n.;Ch.yunnana sp.n.;Ch.zhangjii sp.n.;Ch.(M.)zoiai sp.n.2.Among the new species described in this study,5 species have been identified and belong to the subgenus Medvedevlevna ?zdikmen,2008,which had only one species,Ch.(M.)pudica Medvedev,1970.The subgenus was revised on the basis: descriptions of 5 new species were added, and the key to the 6 species and the geographical distribution of all species were provided.3.The key was compiled for the undetermined taxonomic status species(a total of 76 species, including 49 known species and 27 new species)of the genus Chrysolina in China.Because the study of the genus is not perfect, the workload of subgenus classification is too difficult to be finished. Therefore,of the 32 new species identified and described in this thesis,27 new species are not classified into the known subgenus. In order to facilitate the identification of the collected insects in the future, this thesis has compiled a key for 76 undetermined species of the genus Chrysolina in China by searching the original literature and summarizing the identification characteristics.4.Before this study,a total of 126 species(subspecies)were recorded in the Chinese Chrysolina insect catalog, which was revised in this thesis(1 of the 32 new species described in this thesis belongs to Russia,so it is not included in the catalog). The following main contents have been added: the catalog has been increased to 157 species(subspecies);specimen inspection information;identification characteristics of 130 species(subspecies);5.In the process of revising Chinese Chrysolina insect catalog,we found that "Chrysolina mikhailovi Ge et Daccordi,2011" and "Chrysolina mikhailovi Lopatin,2011" have the same names.Since the former was published earlier than the latter, the latter is invalidly named. The original name of Chrysolina mikhailovi Lopatin,2011 was to commemorate Yuri Mikhailov,so we renamed the species as Chrysolina yurimikhailovi Wang & Ge,nom.nov.with his full name(research results published). All species in this thesis have detailed citations, inspected specimens, and distribution information. In this study,in addition to taking photos of habitus and aedeagus for each species,we also took electron microscope photos of important features. And at the end of the thesis, color and electron microscopy features are provided in a total of 32 editions and 152 pieces.Over 1200 specimens have been examined,110 of which were new species. All of the specimens examined were derived from IZAS collection. |
