Its high incidence rate, great harm, high treatment cost and difficulty in prevention and treatment, cow recessive mastitis brings great economic loss to the cow breeding industry.Macleaya Cordata extract(MCE)has been widely used in livestock and poultry production due to its anti-inflammatory,antibacterial,antioxidant and other pharmacological effects. In order to explore the potential and mechanism of MCE in alleviating or preventing and controlling recessive mastitis in lactating cows, this study evaluated the effects of MCE on performance, rumen fermentation, milk quality and blood indexes of recessive mastitis in lactating cows.Holstein and Juanshan cows with24 parity(2 parity),calving date, milk yield similar, and recessive mastitis(more than200×10~3 cells/m L)in the middle stage of lactation were selected as experimental animals. To study the effects of MCE on performance, rumen fermentation, milk quality and blood related indexes of recessive mastitis cows.According to the design of random complete block group, experimental animals were divided into two groups(no significant difference in intergroup somatic cell number),with 12 animals in each group(3 holstein cows and 9 juanshan cows). The pre-feeding period was 10 days, and the formal trial period was 60 days. The control group was fed TMR,while the experimental group was fed TMR plus 8 g/head/d MCE.This study includes three contents:1)Effects of Macleaya Cordata extract on performance and rumen fermentation parameters of cows with recessive mastitisThere was no significant difference in dry matter intake, milk yield and apparent digestibility between the experimental group and the control group(P>0.05).The concentration of ammonia nitrogen in gastric fluid in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05),and the Isovaleric acid test group was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).2)The effect of Macleaya Cordata extract on milk quality of cows with recessive mastitisThere was no significant difference in p H value, milk composition index and amino acid content in milk(P>0.05).Somatic cell number in milk of the experimental group was significantly lower than the control group(P<0.05).Serum amyloid A and endotoxin in milk were significantly lower than the control group(P<0.01).The monomers C15:0 and C17:0 in the test group were significantly lower than the control group(P<0.05).3)Effect of Macleaya Cordata extract on blood related indexes of dairy cows with recessive mastitisThe blood levels of eosinophils,interleukin-6,interleukin-8,tumor necrosis factor and total bilirubin in the experimental group were significantly lower than the control group(P<0.01).The mean erythrocyte volume, mean hemoglobin, total antioxidant capacity, superoxide dismutase, triglyceride and direct bilirubin were significantly higher than the control group(P<0.01).The distribution width of hemoglobin, plain red blood cell and platelet volume was significantly higher than the control group(P<0.05).The serum protein coefficient and creatinine in the experimental group were significantly lower than the control group(P<0.05).The results showed that the Macleaya Cordata extracts did not affect on the Production performance, rumen fermentation function and rumen fermentation mode of dairy cows.It can reduce somatic cell number, serum amyloid A and endotoxin in milk and improve milk quality. It can reduce eosinophil in blood, inflammatory factors in serum, creatinine and total bilirubin, improve the antioxidant capacity and hemoglobin of blood, and alleviate the latent mastitis of cows, which is conducive to the recovery of the acute tissue injury of cows with latent mastitis and the health of cows.
