The ecosystem,as a whole of all living things and environment on the earth, provides a lot of material basis and service guarantee for the sustainable development of human beings. With the gradual improvement of people's understanding of ecological and environmental protection, the evaluation of ecosystem services has become one of the hot topics at home and abroad. As the flagship species, the habitat of giant panda(Ailuropoda melanoleuca)is one of the biodiversity hotspots in the world. This study is based on the fourth national panda survey data.We estimated the ESVs at a county scale of giant panda inhabiting Baoxing County and Shimian County, then compared the differences between them.Simultaneously,we verified the results of our evaluation by coefficient of sensitivity(CS)In 2010,the value of the giant panda habitat ecosystem service in Baoxing County was 5.315 billion yuan, accounting for 63%of the county's total value;the value of the giant panda habitat ecosystem service in Shimian County was2.612 billion yuan, accounting for 33.45%of the total value of the county.Among all types of land use, forest ecosystem(coniferous forest,broad-leaved forest, and coniferous-broadleaf mixed forest)contributed the most to the ecosystem service value of the study area, whose service function was mainly reflected in the regulating service. In terms of the ecosystem service value per unit area, the ecosystem service value per unit area of panda habitat in Baoxing County was 27391.05 yuan/hm~2,which was 338.69 yuan/hm~2 higher than the county average value and was slightly lower than Fengtongzhai Nature Reserve. The ecosystem service value per unit area of panda habitat in Shimian County was 29145.58 yuan/hm~2,which was 926.75 yuan/hm~2 higher than that of Liziping Nature Reserve, and was slightly higher than the average level of the whole county. The sensitivity indexes of various land use types in the area of this study are all less than 1,so the evaluation result is credible.Among them, the sensitivity index of coniferous forest and broad-leaved forest is high, which shows that the accuracy of the value coefficient of these two land use types has a great influence on the total value of ecosystem services in the region. The evaluation results show that giant panda habitat has a dominant position in creating ecosystem service value, and the protection of giant panda habitat has a significant effect on the protection of regional ecosystem. However, the existing reserves can no longer meet the needs of protecting the integrity and authenticity of the giant panda and its habitat. Therefore, planning and construction of nature reserves, comprehensive consideration should be given to the protected objects and the value of ecosystem services in the future. The results of this study have positive effects on the guidance of ecosystem protection and the full play of ecosystem functions, and have certain reference value for the planning and construction of nature reserves in other areas. The study provides reference for the planning and construction of natural protection sites, suggestions for the harmonious development of regional economy and ecological protection.
