The giant panda is the unique precious wild animal to China, it is belongs to the first grade state protection animal and has research value certainly, is the representative of biodiversity at the same time. At present, deforestation, grazing highway construction and so on determine the reductionof natural habitat area gradually and the decrease of habitat quality significantly. So it is become much more significant that study the habitat quality of Giant Panda Nature Reserve, it not only help people to better protect the giant panda, but also conducive to the implementation of Giant Panda Nature Reserve Construction work.In this study, WangLang GiantPanda Nature Reserve as the research object, putting forward the evaluation system of giant panda habitat quality and the analysis method of itshabitat suitability with environment factors of the reserve. The main research achievements are as flows:(1) Based on the survey data, selected eight main factors which influence the habitat suitability of giant panda, it include:Altitude, aspect, slope, bamboo distribution, vegetation type, river, road and building. With all of those, put forward the evaluation system of giant panda habitat quality.(2) Evaluating the suitability by single factor with spatial analysis of GIS, and obtain the result that the most study area are suitable for the survival of giant panda.(3) Habitat comprehensive assessment for Wang Lang Giant Panda Nature Reserve based on the analytic hierarchy process (AHP). First, determined the weight of each factor in the habitat assessment in value, and established panda habitat comprehensive evaluationmodel of Wang Lang nature conservation area.Second, used ArcGIS to complete the spatial analysis of habitat suitability and complete the giant panda habitat suitability map, and then, to achieve the goal of evaluating the habitat quality for Wang Lang Nature Reserve.(4) The result of comprehensive assessment shows that:the most suitable region of giant panda habitat accounted for15.86%of the total area, the sub suitable region accounted for20.28%and the suitable regions accounted13.82%, then the and the remaining region are not suitable region, accounted for50.03%of the total area. Because all of those, there are49.97%of the total area in the study area is suitable for giant panda to live on.This paper verifies the evaluation resultscombined with the giant panda activity trace data, and could find that:the actual distribution of the giant panda habitat in Wang Lang Nature Reserve is in the line with comprehensive assessment result. All this points to the conclusion that the result of analysis is authentic, high-precision and can meet the requirement of the giant panda habitat suitability. So this area is suitable for giant panda survival.
