The purpose of this study was to study the effects of Bacillus subtilis supplementation on the performance, meat quality and plasma index of fattening pigs.A total of 120 fattening pigs with an average body weight of(62.90 ± 2.37)kg were selected for the test, with 60 males and 60 females were selected.120 pigs were randomly divided into 3 groups(group A,group B and group C),with 5 replicates in each group and 8 pigs per replicate.Group A was fed basal diet, group B was fed basal diet + 100 mg/kg Bacillus subtilis, group C was fed basal diet + 200 mg/kg Bacillus subtilis. The prefeeding period was 7 days and the formal period was 63 days.blood samples, meat samples and fresh feces were collected and analyzed. The results show that:1)Addition of Bacillus subtilis had no significant effect on the end-of-weight,average daily feed intake, daily gain, and feed-to-meat ratio of fattening pigs(P>0.05).2)Compared with the control group, the eye muscle area and intramuscular fat in group B increased by 6.49% and 12%,respectively,and the back fat thickness and shear force decreased by 7.50% and 12.71%,respectively,but the difference was not significant(P>0.05).There was no significant difference in drip loss,p H,water and protein between the groups(P>0.05).3)Compared with the control group, the content of MDA in the longissimus dorsalis muscle of group B and group C decreased by 21.51% and 22.63%,respectively,but there was no significant difference(P>0.05).Compared with the control group, the activities of SOD and AOC in plasma of group B increased by 11.54% and 12.80% respectively(P>0.05).The plasma MDA content in group C was significantly decreased(P<0.05),and the activity of CAT in plasma in group C was significantly increased(P<0.01)and 97.7% higher than that in group C(P<0.05).4)Compared with the control group, the activity of plasma alkaline phosphatase(ALP)in group B and C was significantly decreased(P<0.01),and the content of plasma globulin was significantly decreased(P<0.05),and the content of albumin was significantly increased(P<0.05)in group B(P<0.01).5)Compared with the control group, the content of plasma immunoglobulin A and the level of porcine circovirus antibody in group C were significantly higher than those in control group(P<0.01).Addition of Bacillus subtilis to diet had no significant effect on endotoxin content in plasma and muscle of fattening pigs(P>0.05).6)Addition of Bacillus subtilis had no significant effect on the LPS content in plasma and muscle of fattening pigs(P>0.05),but compared with the control group, the LPS content in plasma and muscle in group B decreased by 7.49%,respectively.9.22 per cent(P>0.05).Compared with the control group, the relative content of Bifidobacteria in the B and C groups was significantly increased(P<0.05),and the relative content of Bacillus megaterium in the B group was significantly increased(P<0.05),the relative content of Clostridium perfringens in group C was significantly decreased(P<0.01).In summary, the addition of Bacillus subtilis to the diet has no significant improvement on the growth performance and meat quality of the fattening pigs, but still improves the muscle eye area and intramuscular fat content and reduces the back fat thickness and shear force. It has a certain effect, can also significantly enhance the plasma antioxidant capacity of fattening pigs, and to some extent improve the body metabolism of fattening pigs, enhance the body immunity, increase the antibody level in the body, and optimize the intestinal flora.
