Abstract/Summary:
Objective: Diabetes mellitus(DM)is a clinical syndrome characterized by Glucose metabolism disorders,Most of them are type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).T2 DM patients are often associated with dyslipidemia(the most Common is the TG increased and the HDL-C decreased),and accompanied by obesity in variety,obesity(especially accumulation of visceral fat)can lead to dyslipidemia,inflammation and a series of cardiovascular diseases such as coronary heart disease,hypertension and it also lead to metabolic diseases.Glucagon-like peptide 1(GLP-1)is a type of incretin.The GLP-1analogue liraglutide is effective in reducing weight,especially in reducing visceral fat,However,there are few reports on the effect of epicardial adipose tissue(epicardial adipose tissue,EAT)at home and abroad until now.this Research in order to observe the influence of liraglutide on EAT thickness and other metabolic markers in patients with T2 DM,and try to find the potential mechanisms to the best of our ability.Methods : 27 subjects with T2 DM were ede to at endocrinology department in our hospital from November 2016 to February 2018,including 17 males and 7 females.with an age of(47.86 ± 10.02)years old.Before treatment of liraglutide,Testing separately FPG,Hb A1 c,2h PBG,BMI,WC,TC,TG,HDL-C,LDL-C,and the thickness of epicardial adipose tissue(EAT)was measured by Magnetic Resonance Imaging(MRI).Three months later,the changes of FPG,Hb A1 c,2h BG,lipids,BMI,WC and EAT thickness were detected again in Patients in the test group.Results:1.With Liraglutide treatment,Hb A1 c before treatment by(9.81±1.46)%,fell to(6.94±1.29)%,the drop rate of 29.3%,was statistically significant difference(P<0.05).FPG before treatment by(10.31±2.41)mmol/L fell to(7.17±1.28)mmol/L,the drop rate of 30.5%.2h PBG before treatment by(12.68±3.33)mmol/L fell to(9.12±1.37)mmol/L,the drop rate of 28.1%,Differences are all statistically significant(P<0.05).2.The Liraglutide after treatment,TC before the treatment(5.34±1.05)mmol/L down to(4.86±0.97)mmol/L after treatment,fell by 9.0%,.TG before the treatment(2.59±1.70)mmol/L down to(1.92±0.69)mmol/L after treatment,fell by 25.9%,and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).LDL-C before treatment by(3.39±0.84)mmol/L fell to(3.01±0.74mmol/L,the drop rate of 11.2%,Differences are all statistically significant(P<0.05).After the completion of the test,For the HLDL – C,has increased 1.7%,so the Liraglutide of the effect of HDL-C has no statistical significance(P > 0.05).3.The Liraglutide compared before and after test,before the treatment(91.67±16.29)kg the weight due to(87.29±16.43)kg after treatment,fell by 4.8%.BMI before the treatment(30.97±4.04)kg/m2 due to(29.48±4.08)kg/m2 after treatment,fell by 4.8%.WC before the treatment(103.69±9.14)cm due to(96.42±8.42)cm,were reduced by7%(P < 0.05),the differences are all statistically significant(P<0.05).4.With Liraglutide treatment before and after,thickness of Pericardial adipose tissue before treatment by(7.76±3.43)mm,fell to(6.33±2.87)mm,the drop rate of18.4%.Epicardial adipose tissue before treatment by(5.57±1.60)mm,fell to(3.95±1.43)mm,the drop rate of 29.1%,There are statistical differences(P<0.05).Conclusions:1.Body weight,BMI,WC,Hb A1 c,and the level of FPG,2h PBG、TG、TC、LDL-C in the test group can significantly reduced by using Liraglutide.2.Liraglutide can decrease the thickness of EAT in type 2 diabetes.
