Objective: This study aims to understand the prevalence of sexual dysfunction in men with chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome(CP/CPPS)in china by using a meta-analysis.Methods: Literature search was conducted to collect studies on the prevalence of sexual dysfunction in men with chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome(CP/CPPS)in China National Knowledge Infrastructure,Wanfang databases,PubMed and Chinese science & technology journal database.Stata 12.0 software was used to estimate the prevalence of sexual dysfunction,as well as on publication year and sample size to make subgroup analysis. Results: A total of 19 studies, including 11095 males of chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome(CP/CPPS),were eligible for inclusion in the review. The pooled analysis showed that overall prevalence of sexual dysfunction in men with CP/CPPS was 58.0%,[95% CI ? 44.0%~73.0%],while the prevalence of premature ejaculation and erectile dysfunction was 36.0%,[95% CI ? 26.0% ~45.0%]and 27.0%,[95% CI ?22.0% ~32.0%].Conclusions: The prevalence of sexual dysfunction in men with CP/CPPS was high, therefore, male health issues in CP/CPPS patients are more and more worthy of attention, this finding reveals that adding a sexual domain to the UPOINT typing system may be warranted.Considering the limitations noted above, more prospective studies are needed to evaluate sexual dysfunction improvement with better management and treat of CP/CPPS.
