Objective: To analyze characteristics and correlated factors in different premature ejaculation classification via questionnaire survey and quantitative sensory threshold measurement of penis. Methods: Participants were recruited according to DSM-IV-TR definition of premature ejaculation and all underwent questionnaire survey and penile quantitative sensory testing.Information of demographics, sexual life, the impact of premature ejaculation, comorbid sexual dysfunction, medical history, sensory threshold of palm and penis were collected.Symptoms of premature ejaculation and erectile dysfunction were assessed and knowledge of premature ejaculation therapy was investigated.Univariate and multivariate statistics were used to compare and analyze the characteristics and correlated factors of different premature ejaculation classification. Results: In the overall population, lifelong premature ejaculation and acquired premature ejaculation were most prevalent(63.24% and 30.15%,respectively).A significant portion of the overall population was comorbid with erectile dysfunction or sexual pleasure perception dysfunction(30.15% and 40.44%,respectively).Only 22.06% of the population sensed the improvement in IELT when using condom. All sensory threshold of palm was lower than that of penis in any location and the sensory thresholds of left and right side of penis were not symmetry. There is no statistical difference in sensory threshold and prevalence of prostatitis between lifelong and acquired premature ejaculation. In comparison between group with IELT?1min and IELT>1min,the former had higher PEDT score, lower expected IELT and lower percentage of sexual satisfaction.Compared with group without erectile dysfunction, the group with erectile dysfunction had higher PEDT score and vibratory sensation threshold in right side of penis. In group with sexual pleasure perception dysfunction,a lower IIEF-5 score was found.PEDT score and vibratory sensation threshold in right side of penis were associated with erectile dysfunction, and IIEF-5 score was associated with sexual pleasure perception dysfunction. Conclusion: Significant differences were found in PEDT score,IIEF-5 score,IELT,penile vibratory threshold and sexual satisfaction between different premature classifications.Penile vibratory threshold and PEDT score were correlated with comorbid erectile dysfunction in patients with premature ejaculation and erectile function was correlated with comorbid sexual pleasure perception dysfunction in patients with premature ejaculation.
