Fertility Desire Reasearch Of Women In Childbearing Age In Chongqing City,under The Two-child Policy

Purpose:The population fertility policy is one of the basic policies of our country,which is formulated to meet the demands of society and promote the sustainable development of society.In order to improve the national fertility rate,China has relaxed the fertility policy gradually in the past few years.Fertility desire can reflect people’s birth demand to a certain extent and directly affect the fertility behavior.This subject is designed to explore fertility intentions of women in child-bearing age in Chongqing area since the two-child policy implementation and its influencing factors,so as to provide reference for revising and improving the government’s population fertility policy.Method:1.Literature analysis method: Reading literatures about population policy and fertility desire in home and abroad.Learning about the change of population policy and fertility desire of birth age women in deferent period and factors influenced the desire in China.2.Questionnaire method: Take the method of stratified random sampling to survey women in child-bearing period in Chongqing.3.In-depth interview method: Based on knowledge about factors which influenced the fertility desire,we selected 10 of interviewees to talk face to face individually to further understand the influencing factors of fertility desire.Result:1.Women in child-bearing age in Chongqing want 1.74 children on average,51% of which willing a second child,the data is generally low.2.The ideal number of children,a second child fertility intentions is different in women of child-bearing age when they have different age,education and income.With the increase of their age and income,they want more children(generally 2)and stronger intentions of a second child.With the increase of the degree of education,the second child birth willing reduced.3.Economy is the major factor that can reflect their second birth willingness,while the policies have little impact on it.4.They have different purpose to birth a second child.The traditional purpose of carry on his family name and gender are not the main purpose,more and more families birth a second child for their own intention and for accompany reason.Conclusion:1.Low willingness of fertility is the fundamental reasons of low population birth level.2.Although most of child-bearing age women are positive to the relaxing policies,these policies have no significant effect on their fertility desire.3.The government should take measures to solve social problems that decrease one’s fertility desire,so as to improve the fertility rate in our country.
