AIM:Measur the subfoveal choroidal thickness(SFCT)in central retinal vein occlusion(CRVO)patients, compare with the corresponding values both in the fellow eyes and in normal controls at baseline,to in vestigate the change in choroidal thickness in CRVO patients. So as to improve the understanding of the pathogenesis and pathological changes of CRVO,and provide basis for clinical diagnosis and treatment of CRVO.Methods:A retrospective case-control study was used.We collected 35 CRVO patients(35 eyes)which was definitely diagnosed in Sichuan Province Hospital of traditional Chinese Medicine in 2015.7-2017.12 as the research group set as group A;the fellow 35 eyes without the eye diseases set as group B;In addition,32 normal cases(32 eyes)with normal age and gender were selected as normal control group C group.CRVO eyes were broadly classified into ischaemic and non-ischaemic types. We measured SFCT by using a spectral domain optical coherence tomography(OCT)with enhanced depth imaging(OCT).Compare the differences in SFCT between the three groups and research the correlation between SFCT and MCT,classification, course of disease, blood pressure, blood lipids. The experimental data would be obtained using SPSS23.0 statistical software for statistical analysis,"P<0.05" was considered statistically significant.Result:1.In group A and B,there were 35 eyes(18men,17 women),with a mean age of47.34±15.11 years(range,22-74).In group C,there were 32 eyes(16 men,16women),with a mean age of 50.44±15.45 years(range,25-75).There was no statistical difference in age and gender in each group, and the baseline data was balanced.2.The subfoveal choroidal thickness(1)The average SFCT in group A,B and C,expressed in average±standard deviation, respectively 320.22±51.46?m?281.77±39.52?m?270.13±43.46?m,and the median expression was 346.00(96.00)?m?274.00(41)?m?279.00(34.75)?m.(2)Comparison of SFCT in group A and group B,Z=-3.572,P=0.000<0.05,the difference between the two groups was statistically significant;Comparison of SFCT in group A and group C,Z=-2.489,P=0.013<0.05,the difference between the two groups was statistically significant;B and C group SFCT compared,Z=-0.655,P=0.513>0.05,and the difference between the two groups was not statistically significant.(3)The correlation between SFCT and MCT in group A,P=0.366>0.05,there was no significant correlation between them.(4)Comparison of different types of CRVO,the SFCT showed no statistical significance.(5)Correlation analysis of SFCT and course of disease: P=0.355>0.05,the difference was not statistically significant.(6)Correlation analysis of SFCT and blood pressure:P=0.01<0.05,the difference was statistically significant, and correlation coefficient <0,it was negatively correlated.(7)Correlation analysis of SFCT and blood lipid: P=0.127>0.05,the difference was not statistically significant.(8)The MCT in group B and C was in normal distribution, with the mean value of225.74±25.26?m,and 226.93±17.62 ?m.Independent sample T test was used to compare the MCT in group B and C.T value =-0.222,P=0.825>0.05,the difference was not statistically significant.(9)The proportion of TCM syndromes: qi stagnation, blood stasis,51.43%(18/35),phlegm and stasis syndrome,31.43%(11/35),and Yin deficiency syndrome,17.14%(6/35).Conclusion :1.The SFCT of patients with CRVO was thicker compared to the lateral eyes and the normal control group.2.The SFCT of patients with CRVO was not correlated with MCT.3.There was no significant effect on the thickness of the choroid in CRVO patients with different length of disease, different types, and whether have hyperlipidemia.4.Patients with high blood pressure CRVO were thinner than those with normal blood pressure.5.CRVO patients with TCM dialectical qi stagnation blood stasis syndrome. There was no significant difference between the three types of SFCT.6.There was no significant difference in SFCT in the four stages of CRVO blood certificate.
