| Objective:Choosing the chronic fatigue syndrome as the target disease of this research, through randomized controlled study with large sample,To objectively evaluate the effect of modified long snake moxibustion combined with acupuncture on chronic fatigue syndrome, and provide reliable clinical evidence for effect of acupuncture and moxibustion in the treatment of CFS,to verify the effect superiority of supplementing qi and nourishing yang method in relieving the state of qi deficiency, and to develop classical moxibustion therapy. Methods:Designing a randomized controlled study,290 subjects who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into a treatment group(modified long snake moxibustion combined with acupuncture)and a control group(conventional acupuncture). The treatment was performed once a day, three times a week, and eight weeks in a row,and was followed up at three month after the end of treatment.Fatigue Severity Scale(FSS)was used as the main outcome measurement, while the Somatic and Psychological Health Report(SPHERE)and Qi deficiency syndrome score scale as secondary outcome measurements.collecting data at 0 week,2 weeks after treatment,4weeks after treatment,6 weeks after treatment,8 weeks after treatment and 3 months after the end of treatment.Results:1.The baseline data of age, height, weight, sex, respiration, heart rate, body temperature, blood pressure, course of disease,FSS score,SPHERE score,Qi-deficiency syndrome score were comparable between the two groups.2.The FSS scores,SPHERE scores, and syndrome scores of Qi deficiency of participants can be significantly decreased in both groups after 2 weeks,4 weeks,6weeks,8 weeks after treatment compared with these score before treatment(P<0.05).There were statistical differences of FSS scores,SPHERE scores and syndrome scores of Qi deficiency comparing which at 3 months after the end of treatment with which before treatment in both groups(P<0.05),while no not significant differences comparing with those after 8 weeks of treatment(P>0.05).3.The improvement score of FSS,SPHERE scores were significantly different between two groups when 2 weeks,4 weeks,6 weeks and 8 weeks after treatment(P<0.01,P<0.05).The improvement score of syndrome scores of Qi deficiency were significantly different between two groups when 8 weeks after treatment(P<0.01).The improvement score of FSS scores,SPHERE scores and syndrome scores of Qi deficiency were significantly different between two groups when 3 months after treatment(P<0.01).4.There were no statistically significant differences in each of the 34 items of the SPHERE scale between two groups before treatment(P>0.05).Sorting out these items that significantly differed between two groups after treatment, items 7,17,20,22,29,31 were fatigue-related symptoms;items 2,5,8,12,23,26,and 33 were bad emotions;items 16,25 were related to sleep quality;items 4,6 represented pain symptoms;item 3 represented memory disorders;item 30 represented attention disorders.5.There was no significant difference in safety and patient compliance between the modified long snake moxibustion combined acupuncture group and conventional acupuncture group(P>0.05).Conclusions:1.The curative effect of modified long snake moxibustion combined with acupuncture in treating CFS is definite.,which came out and better than that of the control group after 2 weeks of treatment and can last until 3 months after the end of treatment. This therapy had good safety and feasibility.2.The modified long snake moxibustion with supplementing qi and nourishing yang function had the effect advantage in improving qi deficiency state. |
