Objective: To investigate the correlation between serum procollagen Type1 N-peptide(PINP),?-cross-linked C-telopeptide of type ? collagen(?-CTX)levels and type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).Methods: According to the 1999 WHO'S diagnostic criteria of diabetes,82 new diagnosed T2 DM patients in Affiliated Hospital of Zunyi Medical College were randomly selected which divided into T2 DM group(n=38)and T2 DM with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease group(n=44).45 age and body mass index matched healthy people and 42non-alcoholic fatty liver disease patients were recruited as the normal control group and NAFLD group respectively.Fasting plasma glucose(FPG),glycosylated hemoglobin(Hb A1c),alanine aminotransferase(ALT),aspartate aminotranaferase(AST),gamma-glutamyltransferase(GGT),triglycerides(TG),total cholesterol(TC),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C),fasting insulin(FIns),25-hydroxy vitamin D[25-(OH)D] were measured.Homeostasis model assessment were calculated.Serum PINP,?-CTX levels were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.Results: There were no significant different of gender and age among four groups(P>0.05).Serum FPG and Hb A1 c levels in T2 DM group and T2DM+NAFLD group were significantly higher than that in NC group and NAFLD group(P<0.05),Serum FIns levels in T2DM+NAFLD group were significantly higher than that in NC group and NAFLD group(P<0.05).HOMA-IR in NAFLD group,T2 DM group and T2DM+NAFLD group were significantly increased compared with the NC group(P<0.05).HOMA-IR in T2DM+NAFLD group were significantly higher than that in T2 DM group and NAFLD group(P<0.05).TG levels in T2DM+NAFLD group were significantly higher than that in T2 DM group(P<0.05),TC levels in NAFLD group,T2DM+NAFLD group were significantly higher than that in NC group(P<0.05),LDL-C levels in NAFLD group were significantly higher than that in NC group(P<0.05),the HDL-C in T2DM+NAFLD group were significantly lower than that in NAFLD group and T2 DM group(P<0.05),25-(OH)D levels in T2 DM group and T2DM+NAFLD group were significantly higher than that in NC group and NAFLD group(P<0.05).Serum PINP levels in T2DM+NAFLD group were significantly lower than that in NC group,NAFLD group and T2 DM group(P<0.05),PINP levels in T2MD+NAFLD group were significantly higher than that in T2 DM group and NAFLD group(P<0.05).PINP is positively correlated with serum 25-(OH)D and ?-CTX(r=0.314,0.356,P<0.05),negatively correlated with the Age,WHR,FPG,Hb A1 C,HOMA IR,TG,TC,LDL-C(r=-0.200,-0.299,-0.443,-0.379,-0.254,-0.309,-0.209,-0.174,P<0.05).The Linear stepwise regression analysis showed that serum FPG,TC and ?-CTX levels were the independent influence factors of the serum PINP.The classification logistic regression analysis showed that PINP,25-(OH)D and HDL-C were protective factors for T2 DM with NAFLD,and BMI,GGT,TC were risk factors.Conclusion: PINP is closely associated with disorders of glucose and lipid metabolism,Serum PINP levels play a protective role in the occurrence and development of T2 DM with NAFLD,but it is not found that serum ?-CTX is associated with the development of T2 DM with NAFLD.
