Objective:To investigate the function of asiaticoside on benign common bile duct stricture and its mechanism. Methods:The benign common bile duct stricture model was built by using clamping method. After the surgery, three groups were set up.None medicine group,low-dose group and high-dose group were all fed for two weeks. Then the rats were executed to extract the bile duct to evaluate fibration level by running VG staining and to analyze the mechanism by immunohistochemistry. Results:The rats of none medicine group were discovered with skin anabrosis, abdominal adhesion, high level of liver index, bile duct fibration and TGF-?1,with a low level of Smad7.The rats in the high-dose group were discovered with absolute skin healing, low level of abdominal adhesion, liver index, bile duct fibration, and TGF-?1,with a high level of Smad7.The condition of rats in the low-dose group was between the two groups above.Conclusion:1.Asiaticoside can lessen benign bile duct fibration through the TGF-?1/Smad pathway.2.Asiaticoside can lessen abdominal adhesion induced by surgery.3.Asiaticoside can alleviate cholestatic cirrhosis.
