This thesis is composed of three chapters Chapter 1:IntroductionThis chapter is define the natural products, sources and importance in the life.Chapter 2:Isolation of Compounds from Calotropis gigantea?L.?Dry.ex Ait.Chemical constituents Calotropis gigantea?L.?Dry.ex Ait the identified seven compounds were isolated from the petroleum ether extract from the root of Calotropis gigantea?L.?Dry.ex Ait.f by a combination of Chromatographic techniques.1D and 2D-1H and 13C NMR techniques as well as Mass spectrometry?MS?.The structures of these isolated compounds were identified by NMR spectroscopy and mass spectroscopy as taraxasteryl acetate?C1?,?-amyrin actate?C2?,?-amyrin caprylate?C3?,11-oxo-?-amyrinethylate?C4?,11,12-Oxidotaraxerolacetate?C5?,Germanicolacetate?C6?,Calotropisis?C7?.Among them compound C7 is new.Chapter 3:Isolation of Compounds from Ziziphus spina-christi.Tow compounds were isolated from the ethyl acetate:chloroform extract of the stem bark of ziziphus spina-christi by a combination of chromatographic techniques. The structures of these isolated compounds were identified by NMR spectroscopy as Lupeol?Z1?,Lupenone?Z2?and one compound was isolated from methanol extract?stigmastreol glycoside?Z3?,this compound frist time is being reported from this plant.
