Schizonepetae Herba,is the whole dry part on the ground of Schizonepeta tenuifolia Briq.It has many effects,usually be used in cold,headache,measles,mumps,rubella,the ulcers.At present,Schizonepeta tenuifolia Briq has no standard on the classification.The best ones are ascribed like these:the pale green color,long and dense panicle,dense aroma and the cool taste.Schizonepeta tenuifolia Briq grow in the province of Hebei are accepted the best ones.Schizonepetae Herba also has no classification.As the form of clinical use,the division of the specifications and grades of Schizonepetae Herba plays an important role in the clinical application.Therefore,it is necessary to establish a design of the specifications of Schizonepetae Herba rank standard.The research of this article mainly divided into the following several parts:1.Literature researchWe have reviewed the related literatures of the classification of Chinese herbal medicine.To discuss the present situation,the existence question and the influence on the clinical medicine.At the same time,to summarize the germplasm resources,chemical constituents,pharmacological effects and clinical application,quality control research and so on various aspects of the materials.To provide a comprehensive reliable basis and the beneficial reference for this article.2.Regular inspections of Schizonepetae HerbaWe detect the appearance and conventional moisture,ash,the content of volatile oil and Pulegone to judge the quality.The moisture,ash,Pulrgone of the 25 samples conform to specifications of the pharmacopoeia level,but the oil contents of the 21 batches which bought from the Chinese medicine market do not come up to the required standard.It may because of the low proportion of the panicle.3.Study on the determination of active ingredientsTo establish the detection method of eight volatile components(1-octen-3-ol?3-octanone??-myrcene?D-limonene?menthone?menthofuran?pulegone??-caryophyllene)by GC-MS and detect the 25 samples.The results show that the eight component contents in Schizonepetae Herba from different areas are different.The contents in Schizonepetae Herba which made by ourselves are higher,the ones in Hebei and jiangsu are higher than the other areas.To establish the detection methods of Oleanolic acid and Ursolic acid,Hesperidin?Luteolin and Hesperetin by HPLC,then detect the 25 samples of Schizonepetae Herba.The results show that the contents of those compounds in the samples from different areas are different,the contents of Oleanolic acid and Ursolic acid in the samples which bought from Jiangsu are higher,these from Hebei are the lowest.The ones made ourselves are also higher.The contents of Hesperidin?Luteolin and Hesperetin in the samples from Hebei are the lowest,the other samples are almost the same(including the samples made ourselves).4.Study on the feature chromatogramsTo research the feature chromatograms by HS-GC?HPLC.There are 15 common peaks determined by HS-GC and 17 common peaks by HPLC.The method is simple and can be used to control the qualities of Schizonepetae Herba integrally.5.Study on the standard of classificationOn basis of the appearance and index ingredient contents,Schizonepetae Herba are divided into three categories:the best level has the highest active ingredients and the highest proportion of panicle,the feature chromatogram should be consistent with the standard fingerprint.The second level has lower component contents and the proportion of panicle than the best ones,the feature chromatogram is basically the same with the standard.The effective components of the average ones should conform to the provision of pharmacopoeia level.
