Objective: This dissertation clarified the chemical constituents of the red segment extraction from the pericarp of the Garcinia mangostana L.,elucidated the structure and biological activity of the polysaccharides of the pericarp of mangosteen,and elaborated the chemical compounds of the D.wardianum Warner.Methods: 1.The yellow and red segments of the pericarp of mangosteen were separated by ethanol extraction,dissolved centrifugation,etc.The red segment was isolated and purified by various column chromatographies.And their structures were identified by extensive spectroscopic methods.The content of the major component was determined by HPLC.In addition,whitening skin care function of the red segment was evaluated.2.The polysaccharide of the pericarp of mangosteen was extracted by water extraction and alcohol precipitation and purificated by column chromatographies.It?s formation was analysed by spectroscopic methods and PMP pre-column derivatization and evaluated it?s bioactivities.3.The compounds from the D.wardianum Warner were separated by kinds of volumn chromatographies and identified by spectroscopic methods.Results: 1.The red segment of the pericarp of mangosteen was extracted by 80% ethanol reflux three times,120 min each time.After vacuum concentration,dissolved the extract with 30% ethanol,centrifuge,the supernatant was red solution,and the lower layer was yellow precipitate.And 10 compounds were obtained,including flavonoids,glycosides,and lignans.The content of epicatechin was determined to be 1.24%.The skin whitening activity of the segment of the pericarp of mangosteen and the compounds 4,5,8,9,10 was assayed.The red segment and the compounds therein had a strong antioxidative activity,a certain anti-inflammatory activity and anti-tyrosinase activity,strong inhibitory activity against Candida albicans.2.A polysaccharide with a molecular weight of 2.3 KDa was extracted from the pericarp of mangsteen,which consisted of mannose and glucose 12:1.The crude polysaccharide has a weak immune enhancement and no anti-diabetic activity,however the refined polysaccharide has a certain immune enhancing activity and a relatively strong anti-diabetic activity.3.Six compounds were isolated from the n-butanol part of D.wardianum Warner.Their structural types involved alkaloids,Sesquiterpene,glycosides.Among them,compounds 1 and 5 are new compounds.Conclusion: 1.Among the 10 compounds isolated from the red segment of the pericarp of mangosteen,the content of epicatechin was 1.24%.Compounds 4,6,7 and 9 were isolated from this species for the first time.The red segment has good skin-whitening activity and has cosmetic development value.2.The polysaccharide isolated from the pericarp of mangosteen has certain immunopotentiating activity and strong anti-diabetic activity.3.Six compounds were isolated and identified from D.wardianum Warner,of which compound 1 and 5 were new compounds,and the other compounds were first isolated from this species.Finally,the small molecule compounds and polysaccharides of the pericarp of mangosteen and their pharmacological activities were reviewed.The structural characteristics of these active ingredients were summarized,which provide a theoretical basis for the further research and development of mangosteen.
