Objective To determine the value of DNA image cytometry(DNA-ICM)in the diagnosis of breast cancer by comparing with the Liquid-based cytology results. Methods Totally 187 patients with breast or axillary mass were included in this study.Using fine-needle aspiration cytology(FNAC)to get the tissue of mass, then measured by DNA-ICM and LBC.The sensitivity and specificity of two methods would been compared. Results The sensitivity and specificity of DNA-ICM were 82.0% and 100%.,and which of LBC were 69.0% and 97.3%.The sensitivity of DNA-ICM was significantly higher than that of LBC(P<0.05).In breast tissue, the sensitivity and specificity of DNA-ICM were 83.3% and 100%,while the date of LBC were 64.8% and 97.5%,the difference of sensitivity was statistically significant(P< 0.05).In axillary tissue, the sensitivity and specificity of DNA-ICM were 80.4% and 100%,and that of LBC were73.9% and 97.0%,the difference was not statistically significant(P > 0.05),but the sensitivity of joint detection was significantly higher than that of method of LBC.The joint detection of axillary tissue was better than LBC.Conclusion DNA-ICM method has obvious application value in the diagnosis of breast cancer.DNA-ICM method is worth of clinical popularization with Liquid-based cytology. |
