Objective: To evaluate the clinical efficacy of cryptogenic stroke patients with Patent foramen ovale who were undergoing minimally invasive transthoracic device closure.Methods: Retrospective analysis from June 2013 to September 2016 all in our department hospital due to cryptogenic stroke with Patent foramen ovale(PFO)treated by thoracic minimally invasive closure of the patients,a total of 21 cases.There were 13 males and 8 females with an average age of 42.7 ± 16.77 years old.10 years old minimum age,maximum age 66 years,under the age of 45 years old share 52%,BMI an average of 22.80 ± 3.67kg/㎡.The patients were recorded with preoperative information,intraoperative and postoperative status,and were followed up for 1st month,3rd month and 6nd month,12 th month,24 th month.Results: The mean operation time was 3.04 ± 1.129 hours,Only 2 cases have intraoperative blood transfusion.one transfused Packed Red Cells 2U,another transfused fresh frozen plasm.The average diameter of the amplatzer occluder used in surgery is 12.2 ± 6.06 mm.Before and after the operation of aspartate aminotransferase(AST)changes on average is 17.0 ± 36.53 U / L.1 case had been with pulmonary infection,1 case with pool chest incision healing.The mean 24 hours of chest drainage is 116.4±138.50 ml,no one had secondary surgery.1 month,3 months,6 months,12 months,24 months after surgery,only 1 case,neurological symptoms recurred,others all didn’t.Conclusion: Patients with cryptogenic stroke with PFO,age-oriented young,transthoracic minimally invasive closure of PFO,is better with short operation time,little human body injury and well postoperative recovery.For long term follow-up,the improvement of stroke is complete.
