A Study Of Clinical Features And Gender Differences Of Neurology Outpatients With Somatic Symptom Disorder

Objective:To study and analysis the clinical features and gender differences of patients with somatic symptom disorder diagnosed in Neurology clinic.Methods:Data of 199 patients diagnosed with somatic symptom disorder was selected,in the First Hospital of Hebei Medical University from June,2015 to March,2017.We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data and Hamilton Anxiety and Depression Scale and heart rate variability.The clinical data was compared between two groups of male and female.Results:1 One hundred and ninety-nine patients?58 male?were investigated.Average age of male and female were?46.17±17.09?and?52.23±14.17?,and women were older than men?P<0.05?.The number of male in the age group of 21 to 40 was more than female?P<0.05?.This disorder was mainly found in poor educational background patients?junior middle school and the lower?.Well-educated is more common than female in this disorder?P<0.05?.2 Clinical manifestations involves multiple systems.Nervous system,circulatory system and digestive system were found primarily.Male wi-thout previous symptoms such as exhaustion was more than female?P<0.05?.3 There are 191cases whose HAMA₁₄?7 points,affirmative anxiety symptoms mainly,and the average point is?15.30±4.59?.Female with abnormal HAMA₁₄4 and somatic anxiety score is higher than male.One hundred and eighty-five patients'HAMD₂₄4 is abnormal,major to slight depression symptoms,and the average point is?14.87±4.71?.Modest depression symptoms was more in female patients?P<0.05?.4 One hundred and sixty-nine cases'LF/HF are not in the range of reference value.The value of LF and LF/HF was higher in male than female?P<0.05?.Conclusions:1 This disorder was mainly found in 41⁶0 years old,female were older than men.This disease was mainly found in poor educational background patients,as well as well-educated male.2 The clinical manifestations involves multiple systems,especially nervous system,circulatory system and digestive system were found primarily.Male with-out previous symptoms was more and sleeping problems was more common in female.3 The vast majority of them have anxiety,depression symptoms,and it was more serious in female.4 Most patients with somatic symptom disorder have an imbalance between vagus nerve and sympathetic nerve,and high activity of sympathetic nerve in male.
