The Evaluation Of Pain Perception Of 3M Clinpro^TM White Varnish In Patients With Dentin Hypersensitivity After Ultrasonic Scaling And Root Planing

Objective:To evaluate the pain perception of 3M Clinpro^TMM White Varnish in patients with dentin hypersensitivity after ultrasonic scaling and root planing.Methods:The patients were selected in the clinical treatment for ultrasonic scaling and root planing and were eligible for inclusion exclusion criteria.According to the further screening of periodontal tissue,40 patients were classified into preventive ultrasonic scaling group,40 patients with chronic gingivitis ultrasonic scaling group,and 40patients with chronic periodontitis ultrasonic scaling+SRP group.The left mandibular canines were the experimental group and applied Clinpro^TMM White Varnish,the right were the control group and the Iodine Glycerol was applied.Dentin hypersensitivity was measured:before the desensitization;immediately after desensitization;1 week after desensitization and 1 month after desensitization.The measurement of dentin sensitivity depends on mechanical stimulation,temperature stimulation and visual analogue scale?VAS?.Using VAS to calculate whether the two drugs were effective at a specific time,then the efficiency of desensitization were calculated,and the conclusion was reached after statistical analysis.Results:Within three groups?preventive ultrasonic scaling group,chronic gingivitis ultrasonic scaling group and chronic periodontitis ultrasonic scaling+SRP group?,the efficiency of desensitization were higher in the experimental group(Clinpro^TM White Varnish),and there were statistically differences in the desensitization rate between the experimental group and the control group at three time points?immediately after desensitization,1 week after desensitization,and 1 month after desensitization??P<0.05?.Conclusion:There were statistically differences in the desensitization rate between Clinpro^TMM White Varnish and control groupl at three time points?immediately after desensitization,1 week after desensitization and 1 month after desensitization?.It was suggested that Clinpro^TMM White Varnish had good desensitization performance,and can be used for desensitization treatment of dentin hypersensitivity after ultrasonic scaling and root planing in clinic.
