The dissertation is composed of three chapter, focusing on polycyclic polyprenylated acylphloroglucinols(PPAPs)type metabolites from Hypericum cohaerens N.Robson.The first chapter is the separation and identification of natural polycyclic polyprenylated acylphloroglucinols in the Hypericum cohaerens N.Robson;the second chapter is the bioactivities of some compounds in the Hypericum cohaerens N.Robson;the third chapter is about the review of acylphloroglucinols chemical constituents and their bioactivities in the medicinal plants of Hypericum in Yunnan Province.A total of 31 compounds, were isolated from Hypericum cohaerens N.Robson.Their structures were established on the basis of extensive spectrospscopic methods. The types of skeletons of these compounds including 14 bicyclic polyprenylated acylphloroglucinol(BPAP),and 5 adamantane,3 lactone moiety types and a structure with a 5/8/5 complex fused ring represented by hyphenrone C(16)was found. In the study of the Hypericum cohaerens N.Robson,Some of the compounds were tested for cytotoxic activities in vitro, and six of them(6,11,14,17,29,and 31)showed moderate cytotoxicity inhibitory activity in five human tumor cell lines, one compound(23)showed strong cytotoxic inhibitory activity. The research work focused on the secondary metabolites of Hypericum cohaerens N.Robson and the diversity of its biological activities. The results obtained once again reflect that the acylphloroglucinols compounds are the main chemical constituents in Hypericum.
