Owning a plenty of constituents and distributing widely, Evodia delavayi(Rutaceae) contains a variety of constituents possesses and pharmacological activities. Croton euryphyllus W. W. Smith(Euphorbiaceae) is mainly distributed in the Karst region of Southwest China and has been used as a folk medicine to cure traumatic injury and kill insects. Two kinds of plant extracts have cytotoxic activity, in order to improve the chemical research of these two kinds of plants, and to provide theoretical basis for the medicinal use of these two kinds of plants, this research the chemical constituents of E. delavayi and C. Euryphyllus. The thesis is consisted of five chapters. Chapter 1 mainly described the chemical constituents of E. Delavayi. Chapter 2 mainly summarized the chemical constituents of C. Euryphyllus. Chapter 3 mainly overviewed the cytotoxic activity of E. Delavayi. Chapter 4 is a review on the study of the constituents and pharmacological activities from the genus. The constituents of E. delavayi were isolated by silica gel, Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography, reversed-phase HPLC and their structures were identified by ESI, NMR and so on. 19 compounds were isolated from E. delavayi and the structure included alkaloid, terpenoids, flavonoids and steroids. The compounds were identified as evodiamine(1), rutaecarpine(2), wuchuyuamide I(3), demethylationwuchuyuamide I(4), 7?-hydroxyrutaecrpine(5), goshuyuamide I(6), goshuyuamide II(7), evocarpine(8), skimmiamine(9), negunfurol(10), schensianol(11), evodol(12), ruraecine(13), isorhamnetin(14), isorhamnetin-3-O-?-L-arabinopyranoside(15), isorhamnetin-3-O-?-D-galatopyranoside(16), trans-caffeoyl-6-O-?-D-gluconi acid(17), 7-ketositosterol(18), ?-sitosterol(19). All compounds were firstly isolated from this plant, the compound 4 was a new alkaloid, and compounds10, 11, 15, 18 were isolated from the genus Evodia for the first time. These compounds were isolated from 95% ethanol extract of C. Euryphyllus and respectively identified as isocrotocaudin(1), jatrophoidin(2), teucvidin(3), isoteucvin(4), teucvin(5), labd-13E-ene-8?,15-diol(6), 7-oxo-?-sitosterol(7),(22E)-5?, 8?-epidioxyergosta-6,22-dien-3?-ol(8), stigmast-4-en-6?-ol-3-one(9), olean-12-en-2?,3?-diol(10), scopoletin(11), vomifoliol(12), lyratol F(13), Apocynol A(14), Apigenin(15), aurantiamide acetate(16). All compounds were firstly isolated from this plant, and compounds 8-16 were isolated from the genus Croton for the first time.Pharmacological activities indicated several compounds isolated from E. delavayi showed moderate anti-proliferation activities on tumor cells including evodiamine(1), goshuyuamide I(6), skimmiamine(9), isorhamnetin(14). Therefore, the antitumor active components of Evodia delavayi were alkaloid and flavonoids acids. Laying the foundation for Evodia delavayi's medicinal prospect. C. euryphyllus showed moderate anti-proliferation activities on tumor cells including labd-13E-ene-8?,15-diol(6), Apigenin(15). Therefore, Laying the foundation for C. euryphyllus' s medicinal prospect.
