Analysis Of Depression Tendency In Patients With Prolactin-Secereting Pituitary Adenoma

Objective:To investigate the changes of depression tendency in patients with PRL-PA and patients with non-functional pituitary tumor before and after treatment.The study focused on the relationship between prolactin and tumor size changes and depression score in patients with PRL-PA before and after treatment.Methods: Patients diagnosed as pituitary tumor who visited the department of neurosurgery of our hospital in the outpatient department or in the ward from October 2017 to September 2018 were divided into PRL-PA group and non-functional pituitary tumor group according to the diagnosis.The depression tendency was evaluated before and after treatment,and the depression score data of patients with PRL-PA before and after treatment were summarized and analyzed.Results: A total of 35 cases were included preoperatively,and32 cases were followed up postoperatively.The age,gender,marital status,educational background of patients in each group and the maximum diameter of tumors in the two groups before treatment were compared,and the results were not statistically significant.The self-rating scale score of patients with PRL-PA before treatment was 54.93±5.55 higher than that of the non-functional pituitary tumor group 48±11.14(p=0.013<0.05).For the self-rating scale score of the non-functional pituitary tumor group,there was a certain difference between the former 48±11.14 and the latter 46.35±9.74,but the difference was not statistically significant(p=0.083>0.05).The depression tendency of patients with PRL-PA tumor before and after treatment was 54.93±5.55 higher than 48.73±5.26 after treatment,and the difference was statistically significant(p=0<0.05).Correlation analysis was conducted on the changes in the maximum diameter of the tumor and the scores of the depression self-rating scale in patients with PRL-PA before and after treatment,R=0.3978,but P=0.142>0.05.Correlation analysis was conducted on the changes in PRL-PA before and after treatment,as well as the changes in the scores of the depression self-rating scale,R=-0.3484,P=0.857>0.05.Conclusion: The depression tendency of patients with pretreatment PRL-PA is higher than that of patients with non-functional pituitary tumor.After treatment,the depression tendency of patients with PRL-PA decreased,but the changes of prolactin and pituitary tumor size were not correlated with the depression self-rating scale score.
