Objective:To investigate the effect of anesthesia with periprostatic nerve block on pain relief of transrectal ultrasound-guided prostate biopsy.Methods:Totally,101 patients who received transrectal prostate biopsy for the first time in our hospital from January 2017 to December 2017 were included, and divided randomly into two groups.Group-A,50 cases, accepted the combination of intrarectal local anesthesia and periprostatic nerve block, while Group-B,51 cases, only accepted intrarectal local anesthesia. The pain was assessed by pain visual analogue scoring method. The recorded times were as follows: after the ultrasonic probe entered the rectum, during prostate puncture process and 15 minutes after prostate puncture.Complications were also evaluated. Results:Pain and discomfort was significantly lower during prostate biopsy in Group A than in Group B.No significant differences were detected in the side effects between the two groups.Conclusion:1?When the periprostate nerve block was used in prostate puncture biopsy, the incidence of complications did not increase significantly.2?Periprostatic nerve block is effective in alleviating the pain during transrectal ultrasound-guided prostate biopsy. |
