Objective:To explore the correlation between serum neuron enolase and the severity of acute cerebral infarction in the elderly. Methods:According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria,100 patients with acute cerebral acute infarction hospitalized in the First Affiliated Hospital of Bengbu Medical College were selected as case groups. All cases were in accordance with the revised diagnostic criteria of the Fourth National Congress of Cerebrovascular Diseases of the Chinese Medical Association and confirmed by CT or MRI.The head MRI scan was performed 24 hours after the onset, and the cerebral infarction volume was calculated according to the MRI-DWI phase.Calculation formula: Pullicino formula(length × width × number of layers / 2,unit is cm3)divided into small volume infarct volume(<5cm3),medium volume infarction group(5-10cm3)and large volume Infarct group(>10 cm3).The patient's serum was taken on the day of admission within 3 days of onset, and the NSE level was measured. The Glasgow Coma Scale(GCS)was performed on the day of admission.50 elderly healthy subjects were selected as the control group and their NSE levels were determined.Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 23.0 software. The measurement data was described by(`x±s),and the count data was described by the number of cases and percentage.Chi-square test and independent sample t test were used to compare the two groups.Comparisons between groups were performed using analysis of variance and multiple comparisons of LSD.The correlation between NSE and infarct size and GCS score was analyzed by pearson correlation.P < 0.05 was considered statistically significant.Thereby determining the correlation between the two.Results:1.There was no significant difference in gender and age between case group and control group(P>0.05).2.The mean NSE levels in the case group were(16.37±3.05)ng/ml,(19.81±3.16)ng/ml,(26.97±4.69)ng/ml,and the mean NSE of the control group was(8.07±2.69)ng/ml.After analysis of variance,NSE was not completely the same between different infarct groups(P<0.05).After LSD multiple comparison, the NSE of the infarction group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05),the NSE of the middle and large infarction group was higher than that of the small infarction group(P<0.05),and the NSE of the large infarction group was higher than the middle infarction group(P<0.05).3.After pearson correlation analysis, infarct size was positively correlated with NSE,and NSE increased with infarct size(P<0.05).Conclusion:1.The NSE level of elderly patients with acute cerebral infarction is significantly increased, which can be used as a sensitive indicator for early assessment of severity of disease(GCS score);2.There was a correlation between serum neuron enolase level and infarct size at admission, and it was positively correlated.
