Objective:Since articular cartilage has no blood vessels, lymphatic vessels and nerves,it is difficult to repair itself after injury. How to deal with the full-thickness injury of knee cartilage is a difficult problem in orthopaedics.Microfracture(MF)can repair cartilage defects by stimulating undifferentiated bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells to differentiate into chondrocytes, and platelet rich plasma(PRP)can promote cell activation and proliferation through concentration of growth factors.Because the latter two methods can provide seed cells and growth factors similar to tissue engineering, and they are simple to operate, microfracture technology combined with platelet-rich plasma for the treatment of cartilage injury is a promising research direction, but there are few reports about their research. The purpose of this study was to investigate the clinical results of the application of microfracture technology combined with platelet-rich plasma in the repair of knee articular cartilage defects,so as to provide guidance for clinical work and provide a theoretical basis for its clinical application, bringing the gospel to patient treatment.Method:Fifty patients with articular cartilage injury of knee joints admitted to our hospital from June 2015 to May 2018 were selected as the research objects.Arthroscopic microfracture combined with intra-articular injection of platelet-rich plasma was used for the treatment.Pain visual analogue scale(VAS)was used to determine the improvement of pain before and after treatment. The HSS score developed by the New York Special Surgery Hospital was used to evaluate the knee function before and after treatment. The quality of life assessment scale SF-36 was used to evaluate the quality of life before and after treatment.Result:VAS score, knee joint function score and quality of life score before and after treatment were significantly different,P<0.05,with statistical significance. Conclusion:Arthroscopic microfracture combined with platelet-rich plasma is a safe and effective method for the treatment of articular cartilage defects of knee joint, which is reliable, simple, helpful to relieve pain, improve joint function and quality of life, which is worthy of clinical promotion.
