At present, the application of ionizing radiation in the medical field is increasing day by day,and it has become an important tool for diagnosis and treatment.Among them, the isotope imaging and treatment technology of nuclear medicine has developed rapidly in recent years, and the use of radioactive diagnostic and treatment drugs has increased rapidly year by year, which puts forward higher requirements for radiation protection work in the nuclear medicine department. The I-131 nuclide will also cause certain radiation hazards to people and the environment while bringing medical and clinical benefits. It is necessary to rationally design the layout and shielding of the I-131 nuclide, and strengthen occupational personnel, patients and public protection. We will strengthen the management of radioactive waste and ensure the safety of personnel and the environment.Due to the particularity of the I-131 treatment site,it is necessary to reasonably carry out the layout and shielding design of the I-131 use site, especially the high radiation level and high radioactive exhaust gas concentration of patients with A cancer after administration, and hospital treatment is required; The design of treatment Ward and radioactive decay pool also needs to meet the special requirements of radiation protection and strengthen the management of radioactive waste. This paper discusses the radiation protection and safety evaluation system of I-131 nuclides in the clinical application of nuclear medicine, including: judging the rationality of location, layout and design, and whether the three-waste treatment ability meets the requirements; To put forward the corresponding radiation safety guarantee and measures in case of accident; To estimate and analyze the possible radiation effects in normal and accident situations in the field of radionuclide I-131 nuclear medicine application, and provide technical support for radiation safety supervision.Radiation workers need to strengthen radiation safety management and protection training,do a good job of personal dose monitoring and long-term data preservation, and put forward restrictions on the management of hospitalized patients and patients after discharge.
