Purpose To observe the thickness and visual field changes of retinal nerve fiber layer in the attacked eye and contralateral eyes at different time points after acute angle-closure glaucoma. Methods Using OCT,the average RNFL thickness and RNFL in upper, lower, nasal and temporal sides are assessed in both eyes at an acute attack after intraocular pressure drops to normal and 1,2,3,6,12 months later in 27 patients.Using Octopus visual field analyzer, visual field was accessed in attacked eyes following an acute attack and when intraocular pressure drops to normal 6,12 months later. The relevant data involved in the study were processed using SPSS21.0 statistical software. The count data and measurement data were expressed as percentage(%)and mean standard deviation(ąs)respectively. The comparison results were analyzed by T test and pearson correlation analysis respectively.P<0.05 was used as a statistical evaluation criterion.RESULTS In the acute phase of primary acute angle closure glaucoma(PAACG),the RNFL thickness of the attacked eye was thicker than that of the contralateral eye,and the RNFL of the upper, lower, nasal and temporal sides of the episode are both thicker. The differences were statistically significant(all P<0.05).There was no significant difference in RNFL thickness between the two groups at 1 month,2 months, and 3 months after intraocular pressure control. After 6 or 12 months of intraocular pressure control, the RNFL of the attack group was thinner than the contralateral eye.The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Above and below are dominant. The MS of the eye group in the acute phase of PAACG and 6 months and 12 months after IOP control was significantly lower than that in the contralateral eye(P<0.05),while the MD value was significantly higher than that in the contralateral eye group(P<0.05).There was no significant correlation between RNFL thickness and axial length; There was no significant correlation between visual acuity and RNFL thickness too(P>0.05).The correlation between RNFL thickness and onset time was statistically significant(P<0.05)?Conclusion 1.The average value of RNFL in the acute phase of PAACG and the thickness of the upper, lower, nasal and temporal sides were thicker than those in the contralateral eye group, and the degree of RNFL thickening is positively correlated with the time of intraocular pressure increased.2.The average value of RNFL and the thickness of upper, lower sides 6 months,12 months after PAACG surgery were lower than those in the contralateral eye group.3.In the acute phase of PAACG and 6 months and 12 months after surgery, the MS value of the eye field was lower than that of the contralateral eye group.
