Objective:Genitourinary malformations include penis, testis, epididymis, vas deferens, urethral malformation and concealed penis, among which hypospadias and cryptorchidism are common diseases in urethra and testicular malformation. The aim of this study was to study the effects of electromagnetic radiation on the offspring of pregnant rats and to induce congenital malformation of the reproductive system in male offspring, and to further explore the mechanism of the effects of electromagnetic radiation on the offspring. Methods:Sixty pregnant rats were randomly divided into 5 groups. On the 11 th day of gestation, four groups were irradiated with 60 MHz,120MHz,700 MHz and 1500 MHz respectively for 8 days.Group A was blank control group, group B was irradiated with 60 MHz electromagnetic radiation, group C received 120 MHz,group D received 700 MHz.In group E,the stillbirth rate was observed at birth and the reproductive system deformity(hypospadias, cryptorchidymis)was observed 35 days after birth. Results:Group A,B,C,D,E had no significant difference in the number of each litter and the number of survival in each litter(P > 0.05),D vs A,B,C,E,P > 0.05),and there was no significant difference in the number of each litter and the number of survival in each litter(P > 0.05).There was a significant difference in the number of dead fetus per litter between group E and group A(control group),B and group C)(P0.015 < 0.05).There was no significant difference in the number of male offspring per litter(P > 0.05).The external genitalia(penis and testis),B,C,D had no hypospadias and hypospadias in group A were observed by magnifying microscope and palpation 35 days after birth. The incidence of hypospadias was 1.79%(1 / 58),E).There was no significant difference in the incidence of hypospadias(A,B,C,D,E)between groups A,B,C,E(P > 0.05).The incidence of cryptorchidism in group A was 1.72%(1.63% in group 1 / 58),C,1.63%(1 / 61),D1.59%(1 / 63).There was no significant difference in the incidence of cryptorchidism among groups A,B,C,D,E(P > 0.05).Conclusion:Different frequencies of electromagnetic radiation had no significant effect on the number of pregnant mice and the deformity of reproductive system in male offspring(P > 0.05),but had an effect on the number of dead fetus in group E(P = 0.015 < 0.05).
