| Background: Pityriasis rosea is a common acute-subacute self-limiting skin disease,characterize by a single salmon or pink oval or round-shape exanthema,scaly plaque,named as “Herald Patch” or “mother spot”.Objective: The aim of this article is trying to view the age and sex distribution,month variation and clinical presentation of PR patients at the OPD of the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University from November 1,2017 to October 31,2018.Method: The clinical data of 91 patients who visited to our OPD in dermatology department from November 1,2017 to October 31,2018,which diagnosis of Pityriasis Rosea,based on a set of diagnostic criteria of PR by Chuh et la.The data analysis was done using SPSS 20 package and Excel.Result: There were 91 patients of 9364 patients diagnosed Pityriasis rosea(PR).In 91 PR patients there were female38(41.8%)and male53(58.2%).The incidence of our PR in our study is 0.97 per 100 patients of dermatologic patients.The mean age was the age of 30.62years(SD±12.2),range from the age of 5years to 61 years.We reported a higher frequency in October with 13patients-14.3%,the least frequency were seen in February4patients-4.4%.Most of the patient presented classical type 79patients(86.8%)of PR,only 12patients(13.2%)were atypical PR.We reported suddenly got PR with none reason 31 patients,with upper respiratory symptoms38 patients,22patients with some others reason,while 35 patients had the irregular sleeping time.The Pruritus situation was divided into 4levels,none,mild,moderate,and severe.In most of the cases,the lesion condition predominantly seen focused on the trunk,which the lesions mainly located on the trunk(60cases 65.9%).However,we observed only20 Herald Patch(20.97%).Conclusion: Like other studies in China,the incidence of PR has a peak with young adult;and reported no statistically significant difference between seasons of the year,but we believe PR have a slightly higher frequency in a colder and rainfall season.However,due to the unclear etiology of pityriasis rosea,we suspect that some of the reasons in the study,such as alcohol,hot pot eating,feeling pressure,working pressure,sweating,irregular sleep(insufficient sleep time,< 7 hours/night)are might be the factor that could promote the development of pityriasis rosea disease.Or is it just a coincidence or maybe some of them could be the cause of thedisease.In order to prevent this annoying disease,it is necessary to further understand the research of this disease. |
