| Objective Febrile seizures(FS)is the most common convulsive disease in childhood, and its incidence has remained high in recent years.Active treatment and prevention are crucial to improve the condition and prognosis of children. To explore the correlation between serum ions and trace elements and FS in children, and to provide reference for disease prevention and treatment. Methods A total of30 children with upper respiratory tract infection and FS diagnosed in the pediatric outpatient clinic and ward of my hospital from Dec.1,2017 to Nov.30,2018 were selected as experimental group.Meanwhile,30 children with upper respiratory tract infection and fever were randomly sampled as positive control group and 30 children with normal physical examination as negative control group.Serum iron and zinc were detected in three groups. To explore the effects of some trace elements and serum ions on FS attack in children, the contents of lead, sodium, calcium, magnesium and potassium were determined. Results 1.Comparison of test results between the experimental group and the positive control group: The serum iron, zinc, calcium, sodium ion content of the experimental group was lower than that of the positive control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01);the serum magnesium, lead, potassium ion content of the experimental group was not significantly different from that of the positive control group(P>0.05).2.Comparison of test results between the experimental group and the negative control group: the serum iron, zinc, calcium, sodium ion content of the experimental group was lower than that of the negative control group, with statistical significance(P<0.01);the serum magnesium, lead, potassium ion content of the experimental group was not significantly different from that of the negative control group(P>0.05).3.The results of the positive control group and the negative control group were compared. There was no significant difference in serum iron, zinc, lead, calcium, sodium, magnesium and potassium ions between the positive control group and the negative control group(P>0.05).The above statistical results showed that serum iron, zinc, sodium and calcium were correlated with FS in children. Therefore, multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that serum iron and sodium were independent risk factors for FS in children, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).Conclusion The results of this study show that the occurrence of FS is related to serum iron, zinc, calcium and sodium ions.Iron and sodium ions are independent risk factors for FS.It is suggested that close monitoring of the above ion levels in children with fever and FS may help prevent and treat FS,reduce seizures and promote the recovery of the disease. |
