Objective More and more studies at home and abroad confirm the correlation between periodontitis and systemic multi-system diseases and conditions. Both periodontitis and viral hepatitis are immune reactions and inflammation caused by microorganisms. In order to provide the basis for the possible correlation between the two pathological changes, this paper reports that periodontitis patients only suffer from periodontitis and periodontitis patients complicated with hepatitis B/C before and after basic periodontal treatment.A preliminary study was carried out to observe the therapeutic effect. Methods From November 2015 to May 2018,272 patients with periodontitis complicated with hepatitis B/C in Tianjin First Central Hospital were selected as experimental group;289 patients with periodontitis in dental clinic were selected as control group;data were collected before and after basic periodontal treatment in the two groups, and 28 teeth except wisdom teeth in the two groups were observed respectively for record of periodontal checklist. The contents of the checklist included:probing depth(PD),attachment loss(AL),calculus index(CI),plaque index(PLI),bleeding index(BI)and furcation involvement(FI).According to the periodontal condition, the patients were divided into mild periodontitis, moderate periodontitis and severe periodontitis. The experimental group and the control group were treated with mild, moderate and severe periodontitis respectively. The therapeutic effects were compared one month after treatment and three months after treatment. The therapeutic effects of mild, moderate and severe periodontitis patients in the experimental group were compared in the initial diagnosis, one month after treatment and three months after treatment. Results The patients in the control group were 120 cases of mild periodontitis,96 cases of moderate periodontitis and 73 cases of severe periodontitis. The experimental group included 122 cases of mild periodontitis,98 cases of moderate periodontitis and 52 cases of severe periodontitis. One month after treatment and three months after treatment, furcation involvement and bleeding index of mild periodontitis patients in the experimental group were significantly different from those in the control group(P<0.05),while the other indicators(P>0.05)had no statistical significance. There was no statistical significance between the experimental group and the control group in the patients with moderate and severe periodontitis except probing depth(P>0.05),and the other indicators(P< 0.05)had statistical significance. In the experimental group of mild periodontitis patients,in the experimental group of mild periodontitis patients, one month after treatment, the indicators were significantly reduced(P<0.05),with statistical significance; In the experimental group, each index of moderate periodontitis patients decreased significantly one month after treatment(P<0.05),with statistical significance;after three months of treatment, each index continued to decline, except for furcation involvement and attachment loss, the other indicators were significantly decreased. In the experimental group of severe periodontitis patients,in the experimental group of severe periodontitis patients, after one month of treatment, the indicators were significantly decreased(P<0.05),with statistical significance;after three months of treatment, the indicators continued to decline, except for furcation involvement, the other indicators were significantly decreased. Conclusion 1.After three months of periodontal systematic treatment, the periodontal health of HBV/HCV patients with moderate or severe periodontitis is still significantly worse than that of patients with simple periodontitis, suggesting that periodontal destruction of HBV/HCV patients with periodontitis may be related to other factors. Therefore,in addition to systemic periodontal therapy, patients with periodontitis complicated with systemic diseases should be treated with systemic periodontal disease.2.The periodontal health of patients with HBV/HCV periodontitis improved significantly after three months of periodontal treatment, suggesting that routine periodontal treatment before liver transplantation is helpful to control inflammation.
