| Objective:By investigating the present situation of the medical students’ general self-efficacy,then explore the impact of community volunteer service experience on the general self-efficacy of medical students, and analyze the influencing factors of medical students’ self-efficacy after service. Methods:Select medical students from Fenyang College of Shanxi Medical University who met the inclusion criteria as our research object with the convenience sampling method.Use the GSES,CBF-PI-B,SCSS,s-EMBU-C,SSRS and self-designed general data questionnaire to collect information.A total of 240 complete questionnaires were collected of which 225 were valid questionnaires.Use SPSS 25.0 statistical software to conduct the following statistical analysis: statistical description,t test and ANOVA analysis of variance, correlation analysis, multiple linear regression analysis.Results:1.The mean score of post-service self-efficacy of medical students was(2.76±0.44),which was higher than the average score of pre-service self-efficacy(2.62±0.39),and the difference above was statistically significant(P<0.01).The difference between both of them and the adult norm(2.95±0.53)was statistically significant(P<0.01).2.For medical students who participated in volunteer service for 3 to 6 times,self-efficacy after service was higher than that before service. For medical students who participated in volunteer service for 1 to 2 and more than 7 times,self-efficacy after service was lower than that before service.According to the paired sample t test, for the medical students who participated in volunteer service for 3-6 times and more than 9 times, the differences between post-service self-efficacy and pre-service self-efficacy was statistically significant(P<0.05).For the medical students who participated in volunteer service for 1~2 times and 7~8 times, the differences between post-service self-efficacy and pre-service self-efficacy was not statistically significant(P>0.05).3.The single factors that affect the self-efficacy of medical students after service are: gender, whether party members or probationary members(P<0.05).There was a moderate positive correlation between the post-service self-efficacy and the rigorous personality of the medical students(0.4≤|r|<0.6,P<0.01).There was a low positive correlation between the post-service self-efficacy and openness, extraversion, positive coping of the medical students(0.2≤|r|<0.4,P<0.01).There might be a positive correlation between the post-service self-efficacy and agreeableness, parental emotional warmth, subjective support, objective support and social support of the medical students(|r|<0.2,P<0.05).4.The multiple linear regression analysis showed that the two main influencing factors of medical students’ post-service self-efficacy were gender and conscientiousness.Conclusion:1.The medical student volunteers’ general self-efficacy was at a moderate level.2.Different number of community volunteer service had different impacts on the general self-efficacy of medical students. The appropriate number of volunteer service had a positive impact.Too much participation would have a negative impact.3.The single factors that influence the post-service self-efficacy of medical students included: gender, whether party members or probationary members, conscientiousness, agreeableness, openness, extraversion, positive coping, parental emotional warmth, subjective support, objective support and social support.4.The main influencing factors of medical students’ post-service self-efficacy included: gender and conscientiousness. The conscientiousness had the greatest impact on medical students’ post-service self-efficacy. |
