Purpose:The purpose of this study was to evaluate the clinical efficacy and advantages of ginger moxibustion in the treatment of senile habitual constipation of spleen and kidney yang deficiency, and to provide experimental basis for the treatment of senile habitual constipation of spleen and kidney yang deficiency by Ginger moxibustion..Method:Using the clinical research method of randomized controlled trial,66 patients who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into treatment group and control group. The treatment group was treated with ginger moxibustion, while the control group was treated with conventional western medicine Fusong orally. Two groups received treatment once a day, three times a week, one week as a course of treatment,a total of four courses of treatment. The clinical efficacy was evaluated by the number of complete spontaneous bowel movement(CSBMs),defecation difficulty score,TCM syndrome score and PAC-QOL scale for patients with constipation. The adverse events were recorded in detail and the safety analysis was carried out after the observation period.Result:1.The baseline data of sex, age, course of disease and various therapeutic indicators before treatment in the two groups are consistent and comparable.2.Weekly complete spontaneous bowel movement(CSBMs): There was significant difference between the two groups after treatment compared with the baseline period(P<0.01).During the follow-up period, there was significant difference compared with the end of treatment in the two groups(P <0.01)and the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in CSBMs between the two groups(P > 0.05).3.Scores of difficulty in defecation: There was significant difference between the two groups after treatment compared with the baseline period(P <0.01);During the follow-up period, the degree of difficulty in defecation had no significant difference compared with the end of treatment(P>0.05).Compared with the control group, the score of defecation difficulty in the treatment group was significantly lower(P<0.01).4.Integral of TCM syndromes: There was significant difference of the two groups after treatment compared with the baseline period(P<0.01);there were significant differences in the three points of dry stool, cold fear and limb warmth(P< 0.05),and there was no difference in mental fatigue score between the baseline period(P>0.05);During the follow-up period, there was statistically significant in the score of dry stool between the two groups.(P<0.05).Compared with the control group, the scores of TCM syndromes in the treatment group were significantly improved after treatment(P<0.05),including dry stool, chills and limbs warmth.During the follow-up period, the score of dry stool nodule in the control group was significantly higher than that at the end of treatment(P<0.05).5.The scores of PAC-QOL scale: Compared with the baseline period, the scores of PAC-QOL,physical discomfort, psychosocial syndromes, anxiety and satisfaction in the two groups were significantly lower after treatment(P<0.01).During the follow-up period, the total scores of PAC-QOL,physical discomfort, psychosocial syndromes, anxiety and satisfaction of the two groups were significantly lower than those of the baseline period and the end of treatment(P<0.01).The total scores of PAC-QOL,psychosocial syndromes and anxiety in the treatment group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.01).Conclusion:1.Ginger moxibustion and oral fusong have significant effects on improving the frequency of defecation, degree of difficulty in defecation,TCM syndromes and quality of life in elderly patients with habitual constipation of spleen and kidney yang deficiency.Ginger moxibustion has the same curative effect as oral fusong in CSBMs after treatment.Ginger moxibustion has more advantages in improving defecation difficulties,TCM syndromes and quality of life, and its long-term effect is obvious.Oral fusong is easy to recur after discontinuation, and can not improve the symptoms related to spleen and kidney yang syndrone.2.Ginger moxibustion is safe and effective in the treatment of senile habitual constipation of spleen and kidney yang syndrone, and can be used for the clinical promotion of acupuncture and moxibustion in the treatment of senile habitual constipation of Spleen and Kidney Yang Syndrone.
