Objective:A prospective study was conducted to study the characteristics of TCM syndromes in 90 patients with advanced esophageal cancer before and after TP regimen(paclitaxel combined cisplatin). The evolution of syndromes before and after chemotherapy in TP regimen was investigated to confirm the TCM properties of paclitaxel and cisplatin. To provide an empirical basis for Chinese medicine intervention in chemotherapy, further explore the advantages of Chinese medicine combined with chemotherapy, and give full play to the advantages of traditional Chinese medicine treatment. Methods : From December 01,2017 to December 31,2018,90 patients with advanced esophageal cancer who received chemotherapy with TP regimen were collected at Huaxi Hospital of Sichuan University and Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the pathological stage was IIIBIV.The third day before chemotherapy and the eighth day after chemotherapy of every patients were used as time nodes, the clinical data of symptoms, signs and tongue coating at different time points were recorded. The TCM syndrome was extracted against the Syndrome Differentiation Scale. The database was established and the results were analyzed by SPSS 20.0 statistical software. Results: 1.Common symptoms of patients with advanced esophageal cancer are swallowing obstruction, chest tightness, dry cough and less phlegm, dry mouth and throat dryness, five upset heat, chills and cold limbs, coughing white and thin,Shenpi fatigue, loss of appetite. After chemotherapy with TP regimen, the swallowing obstruction, dry mouth and throat dryness, red tongue and less moss compared with chemotherapy before chemotherapy had different degrees of decline and statistical significance;while adverse reactions and yang deficiency were dominant.Loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting, fatigue, chills and colds, coughing white and thin, pale tongue and white fur compared with before chemotherapy, have different degrees of increase and statistically significant.2.Before chemotherapy, the syndromes were mainly concentrated in the upper jiao, spleen, stomach, liver, kidney and lung, and the upper jiao>spleen>stomach>liver> kid > lung, while the post-chemotherapy syndrome decreased the coke and thespleen increased.Statistically significant, after chemotherapy, the diseased spleen >upper jiao > stomach > liver > kidney > lung.3.Pre-chemotherapy syndromes mainly focus on phlegm,qi stagnation,qi deficiency, yin deficiency, heat, blood stasis, cold, and yang deficiency. After chemotherapy, the symptoms of qi deficiency, cold and yang deficiency increased significantly and were statistically significant. After chemotherapy, the symptoms of yin deficiency and heat decreased and there was statistically significant. Conclusion: 1.Pre-chemotherapy of advanced esophageal cancer, the symptoms of yin deficiency are the most important. After chemotherapy, the symptoms of yin deficiency are reduced, while the weak of spleen-stomach and yang deficiency are increased. The TP regimen can affect the cold and heat changes of patients with advanced esophageal cancer.2.the “Nature-Flavour and Channel-Tropism” of TP regimen: the nature belongs to cold and cool, the flavor belongs to bitter and salty, and the channel-tropism belongs to spleen, stomach, liver, kidney and lung channels.
