Objective:To measure intravesical prostate protrusion(IPP),prostate volume(PV)and the corresponding thickness of the bladder wall(BWT)by urinary color Doppler ultrasonography. The changes of bladder function were predicted by observing the changes of BWT.The critical value of IPP and PV in the diagnosis of bladder outlet obstruction(BOO)was obtained, and more indicators were provided to guide the appropriate operation time of BPH.Methods:A total of 120 male BPH patients were enrolled. The IPP were measured by transabdominal ultrasound and the patients were divided into four groups.GroupA(0mm<IPP?10mm),groupB(10mm<IPP?15mm),groupC(15mm<IPP?20mm),groupD(IPP>20mm).Comparison of age,BWT,PV,maximum urinary flowrate(Qmax),residual urine volume(PVR),international prostate symptom score(IPSS),quality of life score(QOL)among the four groups and analyze the relationship between IPP and these indicators.Results:1.There was no significant difference in the mean age between groups A,B,C and D(P < 0.05).2.With the increase of prostate volume,IPP increased and Qmax decreased, with statistical significance between groups(P < 0.05).3.BWT and PVR increased with the increase of IPP in general. There was statistical significance among A,B,C groups(P < 0.05),but there was no statistical significance between C and D groups(P > 0.05).4.IPSS and QOL had statistical significance only between group A and group B(P < 0.05).5.There is a significant correlation among IPP,BWT and PV.Conclusions:Transabdominal ultrasound to detect the IPP and BWT,PV is simple, noninvasive, easy, accurate operation. It is very effective for evaluating the bladder outlet obstruction caused by benign prostatic hyperplasia and its effect on bladder function. It can be used as a reference for the timing of prostatehyperplasia surgery. |
