Objective:To explore the association between statins and the prognosis of chronic liver diseases for provide a theoretical basis for statins in the treatment of chronic liver diseases. Methods:Relevant studies were searched by PubMed,EMBASE,Cochrane,China Biomedical Literature,Vip,Wanfang,cnki.net and reference literature of included study were reviewed before December2018,with search terms such as “statin”,“chronic liver disease”,“Cirrhosis ”“Liver fibrosis”,etc. The Newcastle-Ottawa Scale was used to evaluate the quality of the included studies. The Meta-analysis was performed by using Stata12.0 software. Results:A total of 12 research articles involving 375841 patients were included,of which contained 54584 statin users.all articles were English,of which NOS score greater than 7.The results of the meta analysis were as follows:Statins use was associated with lower risk of the cirrhosis progression[statin VS no statin:1338/14084 VS2593/15928(9.50%VS16.28%),HR=0.58,95%CI(0.54-0.63),p = 0.0],and lower risk of cirrhosis decompensation[statin VS no statin:276/8232 VS727/9938(3.35%VS7.32%),HR=0.47,95%CI(0.41-0.53),p = 0.0],and lower risk of primary hepatocellular carcinoma [statin VS no statin:1570/43449 VS 28693/308494(3.61% VS 9.30%),HR=0.53,95%CI(0.49-0.57),p = 0.0],and maybe lower risk of death[statin VS no statin:466/2962 VS 3055/48860(17.31% VS 6.25%),HR=0.59,95%CI(0.45-0.76),p = 0.0].Conclusion:Statins can effectively reduce the risk of cirrhosis progression, cirrhosis decompensation, primary hepatocellular carcinoma, and also may be reduce the risk of death in patients with chronic liver disease.
