Hospice care is a special service designed to improve the quality of life and reduce physical and psychological pain for the dying person and his family members. Its appearance and development embody the people's higher requirements for quality of life and value of life.China is a country with a large population. The end of life care in China should be vigorously developed. However, because of people's level of understanding, traditional inherent concepts, current medical ethics environment and other factors, there are ethical issues in the development of hospice care in China. This paper systematically studies the ethical issues and causes of hospice care in China, and explores many ways to solve the ethical issues of hospice care in China. The first part of the thesis elaborates the theoretical connotation of hospice care and its status and significance in the development of our country. The connotation, content and ethical value of hospice care are summarized, and an objective analysis of public cognition, institutional distribution, and localization patterns of China's palliative care is conducted, and the social value of hospice care in China is concluded. The second part of the paper deeply analyzes the ethical issues and causes encountered in the development of hospice care in China. At present, there are five ethical issues in the development of hospice care in China: the people's ethical misunderstanding of hospice care and euthanasia, the conflict between the secular concept of life and death and the modern concept of life, and the conflict between traditional filial piety and hospice care concepts. There is an ethical conflict between the protective medical system and the concept of hospice care. The sacred theory of life conflicts with the quality of life theory advocated today and the theory of life value. The causes of the above ethical problems are mainly the secular concept of “being better than death” and filial piety. The lack of propaganda for the concept of hospice care and the fact that no new concept of medical ethics has been formed in China has made the development of hospice care more difficult in China. The third part of the paper seeks solutions to the problems based on the above ethical issues and their causes.First of all,we must actively guide the national framework from the perspective of the trend of life in conformity with the trend of the times, and actively carry out life ethics education and hospice care education.Secondly,we must reconstruct the concept of filial piety, kindness, and deportment in the new era, that is,clarifying how the children in the hospice care filial piety, how their parents care for their children, how brothers and sisters get along with each other, and create new concepts of family care.Third,we must strengthen the cultivation of the end of life care professionals and team building, and we should vigorously promote modern and new medical ethics. Finally, from the macro perspective,we must emphasize the need to strengthen the legal system,so that there is a law for the end of life care, and ultimately achieve a comprehensive and orderly development of hospice care.
